Nobody named "dumper" is going to be pre-eminent at anything.

Had his 15 minutes.

Seattle going to be out of contention by deadline- they'll see what they can salvage out of this situation.

Absent a hot month with like 8+ homers, he might be worth nothing. Lousy obp, lousy avg, monster drop in slg. Ouch.

They are picked by the talking heads to win the West.

Modern day Roger Maris.

1 great season - probably stick around a decade or so but never hit half as many in his next best season.

Pitchers figured him out.

.260 and 25-30 HRs are still enough to keep you playing everyday - especially as a catcher. But that inevitable need to DH more and more will be his undoing as a player.

He was good - no doubt about it and his 2nd MVP was well deserved.

Was close in ‘60 between him and Mickey.

But the drop off was quick.

Like I said - he will have a place in the game for a while, but his peak will be relatively short I think. Another one of those guys who started off great and just never kept up the pace of their early years.

The guy was the biggest one hit wonder in baseball history
AI says its....

  • Brady Anderson (1996): In his 1996 season with the Baltimore Orioles, Anderson shocked the league with 50 home runs, a mark he never approached before or after, often leading to speculation regarding the steroid era, though he was never implicated.
