Projected to hit 34 now but, it's falling fast. I doubt it will happen.

  • AVG, Slugging, and OPS are all falling fast. He sucks at the plate.
  • As far as being able to hit HRs....
His Barrels/Plate appearance % is down to 3.4%. This measures how often a batter hits a "barrel" (optimal exit velocity and launch angle).
  • The best in MLB have Brls/PA% at 13%+.
  • Last year he finished the season at 11.3%.
Seems like something is wrong (injury? no focus? women?, ???)

I think playing catcher is finally taking its toll on him. Who knows maybe playing well into October and then playing in the WBC before finally starting this season with the Mariners has wore him out. Whatever the case he is hitting big time regression but I still think he gets to around 20-25 homers this year. Some guys just start slow and that seems to be a league wide trend.

As a catcher, you knew it would impact him long term but, to drop off so much from the end of last season to start of this one (11.3% to 3.4% Brl/PA %). Something is distracting him.

Maybe Hannah (his long-term GF) is impacting his play.

You could be right I guess you never know but it could just be that the league has adjusted to him and found ways to get him out. Maybe he will get it going at some point and is just off to a slow start. This actually started in Spring training because he didn't have a very good spring and WBC so that's carried over to the regular season.

Probably thought more about his nickname and realized he's the J-Lo of MLB.

Now he can't get over his low self esteem.

:lmao:
