No matter where your journey ends up I admire your bravery in putting yourself out there for all the criticism and snide remarks you were bound to get.
I certainly wouldn't do it myself and I doubt very very few people here would be willing to make themselves a potential target. Carry on sir.
Thanks keith, but I don't know why I would be a target because I'm making my health better and for losing weight. Sometimes I'm dumb like that.

The low-carb diet allows people to eat up to 50 grams of carbs a day so you don't have to give them up altogether. Sometimes I do like I had a double chicken bowl at Chipotle with no rice, no beans and just sour cream and cheese on top. I don't really need the beans and rice but I could have small amounts of them if I wanted. I guess that leaves more of the 50 grams of carbs I can have that day.

I just watched a video today of a diabetic guy who tries different foods and then charts his blood sugar levels over the following 2 hours. He showed how blackberries and raspberries don't spike your blood sugar so I'm going out to buy some and I'll have them with cream for a dessert after a meal. Another item is apples with peanut butter. The peanut butter causes the sugars in apples to be digested more slowly. Of course, it's always best to have the carbs with a meal so it takes longer to get absorbed.

I just got my test results back from my blood work. My blood sugar used to be 125 - 160. Now it's under 100 in the normal range for the first time in over a decade. I still eat burgers and steaks except I don't eat the burger with a bun.

I've lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks.
Wow! You are doing great, QL. I admire you for being consistent and disciplined in your diet. Unlike me, I'm having a lot of cheat days lately. No bueno.

OMG. QL I just realized looking at this I mistakenly thought the post above was submitted by Bobby. I was responding to Bobby ...at least I thought I was lol. Great job regardless QL.
P.S. I really am pretty much drug free these days.

I need to do more core things, it's the last bastion of avoidance, I've even got my wife doing situps but I can't seem to break down to do them.

Bobby get some cardio in, walk/jog around the block. How long can it take?
I've been trying to walk to the mailbox which is down the street rather than drive. So I've been trying
What do you mean by trying, Bobby?
I mean I'm trying. I don't do it everyday but every once in awhile I will walk to the mailbox or walk around the block. I'm at least making an effort
Nothing funny about that Archie. I know it's easier for you because you walk a lot with the rare air plays

Bobby there is no more try, there is only do.

The LOL is warranted because you are "trying" to something that seems so trivially minimal.

That's not how this works. It takes work to make it work and it works if you work it.

Read that last sentence again.

From now on, Bobby, if you can't say to yourself you "tried" to do any of this shit. From now on, Bobby, you need to be able to say to yourself that you did more than tried on a given day. You need to be able to say to yourself that you worked hard today.

Not you tried, but that you worked hard. I am in the gym everday now Bobby, working my ass off with 17 different excercises (now rotating through them each day) and 20 or more minutes on the elliptical, with resistance.

I'm in the best physical and cardio shape today than I have been in over a decade and eating like a healthy machine to stay there. I'm using all the discipline needed as a pro gambler.

But gaining weight, my goal, is a slow process, and even slower now that I'm older. It takes the patience of being a pro gambler to stick with this.

It takes hard work and if you can't honestly tell yourself you worked hard that day, then try to get there the next day. Then a little more the next day.

We can do this Bobby. I'm gaining, you're losing and the numbers don't matter because if we're honestly doing more than trying, and actually working hard at the goal, then regardless of the numbers we are getting into great physical shape.

Let's fukkin go!!!

Before you know it, you'll be doing this in the gym...

Oh believe me, I've had my cheat days. I went to Portillo's to have an Italian Beef Sub. I gained 2 pounds at the end of the week. To be honest, it didn't taste as good as it used to.

Yeah he’s doing it the right way, which will help him keep that weight off. At this point it’s a lifestyle for him regarding his diet.
That is correct. This is not a diet to lose a few pound only to go back to eating the way I used to. This is a permanent way of eating. Like I said, my blood sugar hasn't been in the normal range for well over 10 years.
I can tell though that I may have overdone it on the grilled marinated vegetables. They don't seem all that appealing to me. So I'm starting to branch out and have some carbs.
The keto diet allows up to 50 grams per day. So now I'm having raspberries with cream for dessert. Also, I bought some 90% cacao chocolate. This way I won't feel like I'm missing out if I only eat foods with no carbs.

Bob you ever f*** with what I call "Bro Oatmeal" which is plain ass quick oats (cook the oats separately first usually 1:00 in the microwave) add a full scoop of some type of protein powder (RYSE jet puffed marshmallow or Dymatize Fruity Pebbles awesome for oatmeal and they are relatively cheap) and some frozen blueberries this cools the oatmeal as well. Add a sliced banana. Trust me do that for breakfast and you will feel different right away and it actually does not taste like s*** either.

Never had Portillo's. Hear it's a potential #1 all time for fast food, which as a daily marijuana smoker and degen gambler fast food gets hit up FREQUENTLY.

This breakfast (minus the protein powder) was what I ate every day for 3 years. Then someway, somehow, I became allegic to oatmeal. Can you believe that? Allergic to oatmeat. Life sucks. Now I'm on cream of wheat. Yep. It's like I'm living in the 50s....

During that 3 year period, I dropped a little weight but the best part was my high blood pressure went away. I'm told the magnesium in oatmeal helps with high blood pressure.

Give it a try if there's one near you. They are known for their hot dogs but their Italian Beef Subs are great. I like it with mozzarella cheese with the gravy (juice) on the side for dipping.
