ANALYSIS: New York narrowly lost on Saturday but are in a better situation for the series finale. Look for the Sunday night spotlight to be too big for Oakland RHP Paul Blackburn, who has found little success so far in his career. In two starts this season, Blackburn has an ERA of 4.09. The Yankees are 10-0 since Aug. 3 when their opponents' starter has an ERA higher than 3.85 and lower than 6.00 on the season.

ANALYSIS: Baltimore lost the first two games of this series and are unlikely to put up a ton of fight to avoid the sweep. The Orioles are 0-14 since May 20 in series finales when they lost the previous two games. This is likely to be an extended bullpen game with RHP Chris Archer going for Tampa Bay. But he should be solid in the innings he does work. The Rays are 6-0 since Aug. 17, 2016 when Archer starts as a favorite of at least -200.

These rivals have split the first two games of this Interleague series. In this afternoon's rubber match, the Cubs trot out Kyle Hendricks (14-5, 4.09 ERA) and the White Sox rebuttal with fellow righty Dylan Cease (10-6, 3.92 ERA). This line opened with the White Sox listed as -205 home favorites and the Cubs a + 185 road dog. Pros aren't scared off by the big chalk price. They're backing the White Sox to avenge yesterday's upset loss, steaming the Southsiders from -205 to -220. Home favorites -200 or more are 162-62 (72.3%) this season. Interleague favorites -200 or more 320-124 (72.1%). The White Sox are 38-21 (64.4%) this season following a loss. The White Sox are 63-35 as a favorite. The Cubs are 23-49 as a dog. ANALYSIS: Are the playoff-hopeful Mariners really going to get swept at home by the Royals? I have a tough time seeing that. KC starter Brady Singer has allowed at least four runs in three of his past four. M's lefty Marco Gonzales has a 1.36 ERA this month. Hey, for what it's worth, the Mariners are 8-0 in their past four in Game 4 of a series. OK, reaching, but it's the end of a long trip for the Royals and they likely are on fumes. Always fade teams on the end of long trips, regardless of sport.

ANALYSIS: Pretty solid price on the Twins runline (-120) at home. They are a lot better offensively with Byron Buxton back in the lineup. Starting pitcher Griffin Jax had been performing well before being shelled last time out in Boston. That happens at Fenway. Brewers pitcher Aaron Ashby is a legit prospect but probably won't go very deep. Milwaukee has lost four straight in AL parks.
