John Stockton
In my opinion he holds the greatest feat of sports records in history

Not just one All-Time Record on the offensive side of the ball, but a 2nd All-Time Record also on the Defensive side of the ball

It's never been seen before & probably never will again

Pure dominance on BOTH sides of the ball

NBA All-Time Assists

1.John Stockton*15806
2.Chris Paul12552
3.Jason Kidd*12091

7.Mark Jackson10334
8.Magic Johnson*10141
9.Oscar Robertson*9887

Fair argument I’m no NBA expert actually.

Have to remove Oscar because I didn't see him play.

Sure, you can watch highlights, but that's like back testing stats to handicap games. It's worthless.

Without the context the history of replays and stats are worthless.

I could write pages on why backtesting to get an edge is flawed. Seems nobody else in the world understands that.

It might work in other domains, but when it comes to sportsbetting, it is flawed.

In the applied mathematics of sportsbetting, nearly everyone, even succesful professionals, apply the math wrong.

Stockton gives you a pure pass first PG with defense that creates fast break opportunities - paired with a star it’s an unbeatable combo. Plus no ego to deal with.

Isiah Thomas gives you all the ego of a star with less production - but he also does the dirty work and plays hard.

Nash gives you scoring prowess - but lacks everywhere else compared to that group.

Personally - it’s Isiah for me - but drop Nash too replace one with Gary Payton. Now you have a proper top 5 all time.

Prob big John actually....I mean, I am sure he would agree. Those are some all timers as well. I can also tell you, dude, some of the "assists" the home scorekeeper would give him on ocaision were laughable.

I had a lapse and forgot just how legendary his career has been, so I adjusted my vote.
Let me ask you a question bazzy. If John Stockton was to play today against these athletes who are more athletic but overall more lazy on defense it’s fair to say, how many points would he average a game in 2026 ? In fact, I ask everybody in this thread that same question.
