Paul Blackburn is the top AL pitcher at the moment and sole reason why the A's are surprisingly 9-14 early on. The A's are 4-0 when he starts 2-0 as decisions 1.08 ERA 1.00 WHIP. A's as a team actually have more homeruns compared to the Yankees early on to support some close wins. For the Yankees Aaron Judge is absolutely horrible right now and I don't see him snapping out of that against the A's hottest pitcher. Soto took a bad tumble into the wall and might be banged up and Volpe looks overwhelmed again. I think the A's are catching them at the right time, but more importantly at the "right price".

The problem with betting Oakland tonight is that Stroman has been nearly just as effective as Blackburn. The Yankees started the season like they over last years hitting woes. But I guess not. None of them can hit a lick when it matters anymore.

No play which is automatic for me on a price so high. I would not bet against Blackburn here. That Miami game by Stroman wasn't that bad the 4 walks were negated by the 7 K's in the 5 IP. His other 3 starts were too good to bet against. I do not like the 5 walks and 6 hits Blackburn gave up in his last start. This game was an immediate cross out for me. I also believe Jose Berrios is the top AL pitcher right now although Blackburn is close along with Crawford and Houck oddly from Boston.

Yeah I misspoke actually, should've said Blackburn "one of the top AL pitchers" thanks for catching that. I agree with you Berrios is better overall right now although Blackburn has faced tougher opponents.

I don't see the Yankees losing this. It looks like another 4-3 type game. There are better plays tonight than his game. Dog though here is not a bad play. A's have no shot Wed. & Thurs. if they throw Boyle and Wood out there.

I thought I had this series mapped out from yesterday. I took Yanks to win Monday and then A’s to win today. Blackburn is their ace but I just can’t see them winning two against Yanks so I backed out from taking A’s. But it’s possible. Good luck.
