If Crimea, Donetsk etc are considered by Russia 'its territory', then it would make sense that nuclear bombing would be out of the question, no? I mean who bombs their own (future? former?) citizens with nukes? Please make some sense

Russia and US are superpowers... no way the US would allow Putin or China to have military bases in Mexico or Canada.
We are also not being told the truth of what's happening in Ukraine. There has been talk of ethnic cleansing, of Rusian speaking groups especially in Crimea, that's was never reported by the media. Also, everytime nuclear weapons are mentioned people assume they will be used in Ukraine, which is foolishness; this War is between Russia vs US and rest of Europe. People need to realize this fact
