STFU and read the gotdayam rules next time you enter a contract.

Period.

Kalshi even paid them back, and even said they were vague...which they weren't, the law is very clear, the rules clear.

If those idiots keep pushing as if there own ignorance isn't at fault, they're going to ruin the exchanges for everyone.

READ THE FUKKIN' RULES before you enter a contract and understand the laws around those contracts.

Getting killed wasnt the only way "out". He could have stepped down, or got captured like Maddy.

They allow bets on 'attacks' and 'bombing's... well those come with deaths too

This shit is regulated by the CFTC and there are pretty strict regulations about listing contracts related to war, terrorism, assassination, some there illegal activites, etc.

That includes death.

It's not the same as Maduro.

No, there are rules about it reverting to a “fair market” kind of thing upon death.

If you want to bitch about Kalshi, then bitch about that fair market rule. But it was a rule, and everybody who bought contracts should’ve known better than to think death would pay YES

It’s one of the things that keeps me out of a lot of tennis matches, if the players injured before the match, you don’t just get reimbursed, it pays this fair market value.

And if you’re on the wrong side you could get screwed.

Basically people thought death would count.

If you had contracts for him to be out, heard he died, it went up, then you quickly sold to some sucker that heard he died and thought he could come up, then Kalshi doesn’t settle YES with that sucker, the it really isn’t Kalshi’s fault.

You’re not a Sportsbook, you’re not playing against the house.

As far as I’m concerned, when I make a LIVE sports trade on Kalshi, it’s a sucker buying the other side.

Because if I am getting +EV, then they aren’t.
