@jjgold and everyone else, you have to admit this thread is a little special, with uncharted territory being navigated and invented, and what a fukked up situation if they take the platforms away.

I knew states were individually trying to ban them, but I haven’t followed last couple of weeks

This act to pass a federal ban kind of came out of nowhere, didn’t it?

Why not let each and every state decide like they get to do with sports betting

Not totally out of nowhere.

Giving it to the states is one of the arguments for introducing the bill. Right now, it's covered under the CFTC and the Commodities Trading act.

They want to change that law, amend it to give the oversight to the states.

It's highly selective, and probably because guys like Schiff are beholden to tribes.

The argument makes it sound like it's giving it to the states but let's face it, it's gov't over reach to ban freedoms.

The courts said the Feds are in control, like stocks, bonds, oil, gold, etc.

So now they want to change the law.

Fukk me.

@KVB what’s this all about ?

On Thursday, Major League Baseball announced a new partnership with Polymarket and the CFTC “to create clear boundaries with the goal of mitigating risk while providing fan engagement opportunities.”

This is about the leagues getting on board with huge and fast growing plartform that engages the public in their sport.

The Senate is willing to undermine that as if they know more about money on the sport than the actual league does.

Again, fukk me

I am literally sick to my stomach here.

I’ve spent months creating a formula that has taken decades to master.

I even have so much confidence that I’m willing to go online with it and show the world the trades, even use video, and even teach it.

All of that effort, all of that experience, and all of that time is in jeopardy.

May have to move to a state that allows it, if there will be one left.

Fukk me.

^ that sucks KVB. Yeah you may have to seek out a state that legalizes the exchange if the COURT rules that the states are in control.

To be specific, in California, the courts already ruled that we can use because it’s federally regulated.

Just like stocks, bonds, oil, gold, etc.

It’s not a court it’s Congress trying to change the law because of what the courts have.

The Indians tribes failed to get it thrown out so now they’re trying to change the law

One of the great things about all this is that they couldn’t kick me out like sports books can, there is no risk management on the exchanges.

Well, now they’re trying to kick me out.

I bet the Indian tribes put Schiff up to this.

Our congress sucks. Seems like all of the Congresses under President Trump have sucked balls.

Either they get nothing done or do stupid shit they don’t need to do.

f*** these guys

I saw Schiff say he does not like players betting on death for people. for example. I don't know if he is against sports trades. But one day KVB have to think it goes to the Supreme Court. Ultimately I think there is where it is decided. GL.

You know what I was wrong about finding a state, that’s not a solution

This bill isn’t about banning the exchanges from the states, it’s about banning the exchanges from offering anything on Sports.

That’s not giving the states a choice that’s catering to the states who have Indian tribes that don’t want it

So there really is no answer for me, it’s back to playing games with Sports books, being charged high fees to trade, and having to make dummy bets to avoid getting booted or limited

All of that costs a lot to stay in business where the margin then is so much less.

Fukk me.

It’s already against the law to have contracts on assassination or war

There never was a bet on somebody’s death, it was a bet on whether or not the guy would leave office

Shiff is just like MAGA, start reading the dumb shit people say on the Internet and then start believing that’s what happened

I think if you scroll back, you’ll find me bitching about people coming in saying Kalshi screwed them when really they didn’t read the rules.

And I even said if people keep bitching about the wrong thing here some idiot and Congress is going to decide to take action

And that’s fucking what’s happening

That’s a post that seems to be aging well, to my detriment

I’m going to talk to my attorney, and discuss the idea of challenging the law if it passes because it causes a “particularized” harm to me and my business

And since betting was legalized, I may have a constitutional argument as well.

So the idea of the Supreme Court deciding this may not be totally out of the question.

Ultimately it might be me sitting in front of the Supreme Court one day, looking for relief.

I will always fight for us bettors and for a fair marketplace.

I was against the legalization in California years ago, not because I didn’t want gambling in my state, but because the bills were bad and created an unfair marketplace… those bills were written by the giant corporations, obviously for their benefit.

I offered to go to Sacramento and advise them on the next bill or proposition.

But I may end up in Washington before it’s all said and done.

I’m not kidding either. Fucking as serious as a heart attack here.

I find it surprising you were against Legalization in CA a couple of years ago KVB. What was in the bills that drove you away from supporting it?

Those bills were horrible.

Just think about it, giant corporations spent over $400 million trying to get a bill, or basically a proposition, they wrote passed by the people.

You know that’s not going to be good for the people.

I had a lot of specific issues with it, and it was very poorly written.

My biggest issue was that it created an unfair market marketplace, where those big companies had basically a monopoly.

That means they could charge whatever vig they want and nobody could come in and compete with them.

That’s why they spent over $400 million trying to get it passed. Thankfully it failed but what we know is they’ll just put the same bill up every two years because they can instead of rewriting it to make it better.

@jjgold will remember those discussions we had were about a true fair marketplace and a would be an exchange.

We used to talk about starting our own exchange in California.

That’s basically where the title of this thread came from, it dates back to the legalization days and need for a fair betting landscape in California.

It’s the exchange we had been waiting for.

This may very well be the route I choose.

How can you say it's a state's rights issue and it belongs to them and the turn around and say there's a national ban on one particular type of security.

It reminds of those guys fighting hard to reverse the Abortion law becasue it was a State's rights issue and states should be allowed to decide the legality within their own borders.

Yet those very same people had already written a bill for a national ban on abortion before the Supreme Ct. ever reversed the law.

These guys are real bastards when they claim state's rights by insisting on some kind of national policy.

How stupid do they think we are.
