Kalshi claimed that they clarified the rules ‎on these types of markets but basically it happened while the news was breaking so if you sold out of an early position you got paid but if you waited to settle, the market was essentially voided. They claimed no profit on death or something. Like bro, don’t hang the line then.

Kalshi not paying on the Khameni death is straight up bullshit. There was always a strong chance that he would die of old age not just getting merc’d. You would think this would be made abundantly clear up front.

I disagree.

Looks like they followed the rules about death.

Against the law to have a contract on war or assasination.

If he dies, it reverts to that "fair market" at the time, which could be bullshit, in that sense I might agree with you.

Those same rules keep me from trading some tennis. Instead of a reimbursement if they don't play, it resolves to a "fair price in accordance with the rules'

I think the problem is people don't understand the rules. They can say the rules are bullshit, but I think people got into something and they didn't understand the rules when they got into it.

Saw a lot of that with the congress and shutdown stuff.

Oh, I see.

But really, there is a death rule.

These are regulated and you can't have anything about assasination or war. At least you're not supposed to, lol

understand that you don't just sell to kalshi and get paid.

You make a deal with someone on the other side. Someone bought what others sold basically. That is different than settlement.

Should Kalshi have halted those? I 'm not so sure. There's always a greater fool, lol. Maybe the other party shouldn't have taken the trade.

How do you bet kalshi? On desktop or phone? Do you set or accept lines?

I use the desktop mostly. Phones in an emergency if away. But I basically always LIVE trade at the desk.

Most orders I put in are limit resting orders. I will sell on the bid if the shit hits the fan, or Lowry hits it in the water, lol.

I buy sometimes at market, when I need to get in or the price is tolerable, but limit orders are preferred for sure.

It's hard to place and move those limit orders on more than a couple of games at a time.

Shit, this whole gig is hard.

There was another chance to get duke in the 40's before this last run.

But didn't get in, then chickened out when it rose.

Now it's @.54

Ugh.

Duke -12.5 @ .44-.47 cents is a pretty good deal.

I am not buying though, not sure I want the exposure of 12.5 here.

Might try to get into this -12.5 after all, it's up to .51 cents though.

Picekd up Duke -9.5 @ .44 cents.
I sold this for .50 cents at this timeout @ 13.6% profit.
Picked up Duke-12.5 @ .48 cents.
I sold half of this position for .77 cents @ a 60.4% profit.

Duke on the beatdown.

Could have held everything and more than double my profit. But that's not what this is about. Sportsbook plays take care of the Duke bet.

I'm trying to win every day.

This isn't sportsbook betting.

This is Trading!!!

The lab work this week was pretty damn good, the trading was good at times, not so good at times, then great at times, then eventually with discipline I'd like do consistently.

This is a real time experiment, in the choppy waters between the superbowl and NCAA hoops post season.

...then eventually with the discipline I'd like to do consistently.

That's what today was about. Stack the dollars, even if a little at a time.

I have taken some things for granted since the super bowl. I've made life harder than it needed to be.

This can be done. Like poker, you can tighten down your game, not play so loose, and see results. It's time to tighten down that game, keep my head steady, NOT go on tilt, and DO NOT overtrade.

Might bet the next game, but not likely to trade it.

Then again, I might jump right into battle...

Picked up Duke-12.5 @ .48 cents.
I sold half of this position for .77 cents @ a 60.4% profit.

The other half of this position will expire at 1.00. Average closing price is .8850 cents

Position will close at an overall profit of 84.4%.

Strong trade here. First trade yielded about 13.6% so up almost a unit.

Sure, could have been up more than 2 units if I just held the team I liked anyway.

But remember, the mindset of the soldier at the trading desk is...
