Yes but they do care about strength of schedule. Bama with a win over Georgia owns a win better than anything on FSU's schedule. It's not fair but it is what it is given FSU's SOS.
They also own a loss that Florida State doesn't have (as of now)

Double-digit loss at home as well

Alabama came into the week #8 for a reason

Florida State would've not been #4 if they didn't have a chance to clinch their way in

Just the way I see it. FSU will be undefeated and left out in the cold when we wake up tomorrow.

These games tonight are both awful beyond belief. That’s all I know
FSU might also got left out because they aren't looking worthy to be in the playoffs tonight. Sure they're down to their 3rd string QB but they don't pass the eye test and that could end up mattering to the committee. Who knows though there are a lot of variables that will be answered tomorrow morning.

If they put that much into SOS, then they wouldn't have had Oregon above Texas and Alabama

Alabama would be in easily over Florida State if they were both 12-1 conference champs. No one is arguing that

But Florida State may end up being 13-0

That's the teams I think deserves to be in

I know rankings don't matter but no way #8 should suddenly be in and #1 suddenly out altogether due to a measly 3pt loss
They still lost though and it was an impressive win for Bama. Bama may be 8th but a tough win against a number one ranked team could vault them over some teams in front of them.

So why did Florida State go up #4 in these past rankings?

Why didn't the committee drop them if the QB situation was a concern?

Why wasn't Alabama (and Texas) ahead of Ohio State?

Florida State is getting that fourth spot I think if they win
