interesting history and something has to give:

- no SEC champion has ever been left out of the 4 team CFP. Bama would be the first to be left out in 10 years

- no Undefeated Power 5 school has ever missed thee 4 team field. FSU would be the first to be left out in a decade.

- no school in the penultimate rankings (the final rankings before championship saturday) has ever jumped from Outside of the Top 6, into the Top 4. #7 Texas and #8 Alabama would be the first two squads to do it.

We have 5 conference champions who all look like they belong, and something has to give.

Luckily for the committee, they can invoke the guidance in their selection guidelines, that states that they absolutely can take into account a team missing a key player.

Jordan Travis FSU QB? That dude is such a huge on and off the field leader that not having him out there gives the committee the cover they need to downgrade FSU.

This last part is the part you keep missing

They had many chances to downgrade Florida State and didn’t

SEC is not all that this season

Florida State 8 wins over bowl teams — most in country

I've slept on it... Considered all possibilities and instead of guessing, I went ahead and called my buddy, Boo Corrigan, NC State athletic director. He is leading the committee this year.

He said this is what they are going to do:

Mich
Wash
FSU
Texas

The last spot was down to Texas or Bama and Texas beat Bama.
He indicated it was a tough decision but with this list of teams it was the easiest answer to explain.
- 3 undefeated Conf Champs
- Texas beat Bama

I agree this is what they are going to do. Me and stormy were talking about this. Unfortunately makes for pretty bad matchups after a great season. Two best playoff teams meeting in semi.

From a matchup standpoint of the 5 teams that have a chance to get in this would be an amazing lineup

1 Mich
2 Wash
3 Tex
4 Bama

I hope the committee reveals these as their top 4 rightfully so.

Did that guy play quarterback for Louisville all year? He is the worse 24 year college quarterback Ive ever seen. He wasn’t better than FSU’s true freshman. Brian Brohm is a combination of Harry Whodini and David Blaine to get Louisville to the championship game with that guy. Funds must have been low in the NIL collectives if that’s the best they could do.

100% agree. Those look like the 4 best teams right now.
FSU - not so much.
