I’m against the committee excluding FSU if they win by a close margin. That team without Jordan Travis has shown its depth at every other position the last couple weeks.
I hate to say it but, I could easily see the CFP leaving FSU out unless they win convincingly vs Louisville.

Texas gets in over Alabama in any situation in which they both win. Head to head has to mean something otherwise why play the games. Texas and Alabama can't both get in.

Agreed head 2 head should definitely matter

With that being said, if Alabama knocks off Georgia, should they leapfrog a couple of other teams and get in??
Not necessarily. The SEC champion should make the CFP, but there has to be concessions for Alabama and Georgia to be in. Leaving Georgia out just doesn't seem right and a future head to head matchup between Alabama and Georgia doesn't seems right either.

Yeah the debate will always remain who gets in last, but since there are 3X many teams now for next year it will be less impactful as far as a debate.
The debates next year will still be who gets byes and who gets in 8-12. And how many teams will get in from the Big 10 and SEC.

They'll get in because they're 13-0

But they're bad

Alabama will find its way in if they beat Georgia.

They may leapfrog Texas, despite the H2H match-up

Georgia may be left out depending on what Florida St, etc do

Head to head doesn't mean anything? Who has a better (road)win this year? The Longhorns will be conference champions just like Alabama. Unless you are saying the SEC is galaxies better than any other conference this year.

I don't think the SEC is necessarily "galaxies" better, but I do think it is clearly the significantly better conference.

I don't think the SEC can possibly be shut out of the playoff, in any scenario

Leaving a 1-loss Big 12 champ is a lot more conceivable

H2H means something, but you could justify leaving Texas out IMO

I don’t see a scenario Ohio State can get in unless Texas loses and Florida State loses possibly
Yes that is the scenario.

Georgia win + Texas loss + Florida State loss

If Michigan and Oregon win, then you have:

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Oregon
4. Ohio State

For what it's worth, the top 10:

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Washington
4. Florida State
5. Oregon
6. Ohio State
7. Texas
8. Alabama
9. Missouri
10. Penn State

it is not just winning but you look when you win.

it is not just losing but how you look when you lose.

bama has to blow out georgia imo to get in.

they are way down at #8.

FSU simply needs to win by 1 point and they are in IMO

who will leapfrog them?

Texas? they have an L

ohio state is not playing.

Oregon is ahead of texas so if they beat Wash then they replace Wash in Top 4
