In America hands down it is California, no other state even comes close. Sure you will get different peoples opinions. But California is its own place, own style own rules, own everything.
Outside of America hands down Vietnam, here is my list of my top 5

1. Hanoi, Vietnam
2. Santa Barbara, California
3 Phnom Penh ,Cambodia
4. Taipei , Taiwan
5. Shenzhen , China

Cali is great but sooooooo expensive.

Can't live in China. Don't want to be an outcast. Got to believe China media is making all Americans out to be Hannibal Lecters.

Yep it really isn't that close. I wouldn't live anywhere else in the country now that I'm here

Expensive but more than worth it. It is a little overblown in terms of day-to-day living

easy answer.

Canada or Europe.

more than enough to keep exploring and traveling.

nobody even usually explores their own country in one's lifetime.

most ppl live and die in the same bubble.

travel broadens the mind.

switzerland is also up there.

sweden, denmark, germany, belgium, North London, UK, spain, finland.

imagine experiencing all these different races and cultures. the cuisines, how they do things, way to live...

How do you know that ? From what you read on the internet ? Go there and you will see. It’s a wonderful place and you will feel welcomed. Safe and beautiful place.

California is expensive but what are the other options? No thanks. California or nowhere in America

I've been in the San Francisco area my entire 56 years. Is it the same city I grew up in? Hell no but it's home, my entire family/friends are here, and it's what I'm used to.

There is still a reason that people want to vacation here because if you take away some of the negatives, it's up there.

I lived in Russian Hill on Polk and and Broadway for 4 years. Great place! Definitely an amazing place. Everything is so convenient.
