Wednesday College Football: Best Bets for Week 12

The MAC will have two more games scheduled for Wednesday. Both games are exciting, but the one game that has caught my attention is the Miami (OH)-Buffalo matchup.
Both teams are entering this game with a 5-5 record. The winner of this game will head to a bowl game later this year. The other will need to win its final game next week to earn another game later in the year.
It doesn’t get more important than this.
Therefore, I’ve added a couple of Wednesday night college football bets and reviewed the odds at BMR!
Best Bets for Miami (OH) vs. Buffalo
Before tonight’s NCAAF picks, keep in mind that Miami (OH) RedHawks have lost two consecutive games in the MAC. It’s gotten so bad that starting quarterback Dequan Finn has left the team and will get ready for the NFL Draft with multiple games left on the schedule.
That will push senior quarterback Henry Hesson into the starting spot. He’s thrown three touchdowns and three interceptions with 489 yards passing. However, his QBR is 20.1 heading into this one.
On the other hand, Buffalo has won three of its last five games, but lost 38-19 to Central Michigan on the road last week. Buffalo played back-to-back games on the road, but the Bulls are home now.
In addition to making a bowl game, the MAC Championship is literally anyone’s. There are 5 teams currently, 4-2 in conference play, and 1 team at 5-1. The RedHawks and Bulls are both 4-2 and still have a chance to play in the big game.
Wednesday’s Week 13 Odds (Buffalo +1.5 -100)
The Miami (OH) RedHawks opened as +2.5 underdogs. Now, they’re 1.5-point favorites on the road against Buffalo. In addition, the total dropped from 39.5 at open to 38.5.
Wednesday’s Picks
In the box score, Buffalo and Miami (OH) are very similar. Both teams have scored at least 23 points per game. In addition, both teams have allowed fewer than 22 points per game.
Buffalo has the more effective passing game and should be more efficient behind Ta’Quan Robinson. On the other hand, Miami (OH) has rushed for about six yards more per game.
That said, the RedHawks are using a backup quarterback who hasn’t had much success this season. They’ve also lost two consecutive games and aren’t playing their best. It looks like the star quarterback legitimately quit on the team before the season concluded.
Buffalo is likely the better play here.
Buffalo’s Al-Jay Henderson (Over 65.5 Rushing Yards -120)
Al-Jay Henderson has rushed for at least 66 yards in six of his last nine games. He struggled against Central Michigan, averaging only 4.3 yards per carry last week.
However, he averaged at least six yards per carry in his previous two games before playing Central Michigan. Ultimately, Henderson got a season-low nine carries against Central Michigan. He should get way more opportunities against Miami (OH).
Plus, he’s earned at least a 12-yard rush in four of his last five games. He’s able to break out for some big plays. A couple of those monster plays will help him reach his prop of 65.5 yards.
