The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Las Vegas for a highly stacked Fight Night event. The UFC fight odds are now available for us to delve into some perfect prop betting picks for UFC Vegas 48 – headlined by a light heavyweight contenders’ bout between Johnny Walker and Jamahal Hill.
Christian Rodriguez vs. Jonathan Pearce
UFC Featherweight Preliminary Bout
Saturday, February 19, 2022- 09:30 PM EST at UFC Apex
Jonathan Pearce (11-4-0) has flipped the script since losing his UFC debut bout versus Joe Lauzon in the lightweight division. Still, the Fight Ready MMA prospect is now riding a two-fight win streak behind consecutive stoppages inside the distance since dropping down to 135 lbs.
Standing at 6 feet tall, Pearce owns a monstrous size advantage over most of the featherweight division, which has clearly played to his advantage by dominating all opponents at this weight class thus far.
Christian Rodriguez (7-0-0) makes his UFC debut this Saturday. With a challenging piece of matchmaking upon his promotional introduction, the undefeated prospect will need to arrive in the octagon with his A-game to stand a chance of victory.
Pearce vs. Rodriguez Fight Breakdown
Between the size discrepancy, the UFC experience advantage, and the raised confidence level, it's difficult to envision the newcomer breaking down the diverse skillset of Pearce.
It can also be argued that Pearce is receiving a drop-down in the level of competition he's facing. Successes over Omar Morales and Kai Kamaka III shouldn't be overlooked, as Pearce will now compete against a smaller-sized 24-year-old who owns zero UFC experience.
UFC Vegas 48 Odds Analysis
The available UFC odds with Bookmaker Review favor Pearce; he's the largest sized favorite of the event as bookmakers aren't giving Rodriguez much of a chance.
With that said, we can't find value in betting Pearce at -320. And for that reason, placing a wager on the anticipation of the fight ending inside the distance is a likelihood I can support.

Jim Miller vs. Nikolas Motta
UFC Lightweight Main Card Bout
Saturday, February 19, 2022 - 10:00 PM EST at UFC Apex
38-year-old Jim Miller (33-16-0) returns to the UFC octagon for his 50th professional MMA bout on Saturday evening in Vegas. Having fought under the UFC banner since 2008, to say he's a legend of the sport would be an understatement.
With a 2-3 record from his previous five bouts, you can't count the old dog out just yet, as he's notably defeated two young up-and-comers in Erick Gonzalez and Roosevelt Roberts.
Nikolas Motta (12-3-1) has been absent from the MMA competition since 2020. After earning himself a contract on Dana Whites Contender Series, the Brazilian-born UFC newcomer has suffered multiple canceled bouts.
Finally, the UFC new blood will make his promotional debut, and with a significant victory over Jim Miller, his name could be instantly propelled into the spotlight.
Miller vs. Motta Fight Breakdown
The matchup at hand will result in a striker versus grappler situation, as it's no secret that Jim Miller has found the majority of his career success whilst utilizing his grappling and submission skills. Likewise, Motta's career has predominantly been focused on his striking assets, so a clash of styles is expected for their meeting at UFC Vegas 48.
Unfortunately, it's difficult to find footage where Motta has displayed a consistent amount of takedown defense. And he certainly hasn't faced the level of grappling that Miller will present. However, I'm completely dumbfounded by this contest, as I believe both fighters own great potential to finish the fight with their respective strengths.
UFC Vegas 48 Odds Analysis
The available UFC Vegas 48 odds with Bookmaker Review are siding with Motta, as he's currently positioned with a -175 price tag.
I can't respect these odds, as we're yet to witness Motta's grappling on the UFC stage. With that said, I do believe his striking offense will be too much for Miller, but I also expect Miller to dominate should the fight play out on the ground.
For the reasons above, a wager on under 2.5 rounds at a near-even price leaves me with more betting confidence than predicting a side.
