Risers: Market is High on Rams & Bills

The Rams and Bills each made notable additions via trade during free agency, which is why their lines have moved.

Rams (+750)

The Rams were already No. 2 in opening Super Bowl odds, as this was the only team that was able to give the Seahawks a fight. With Matthew Stafford returning, the Rams look poised to make another Super Bowl run. With that said, it’s intriguing to see the Rams supplant the Seahawks atop the Super Bowl odds.

The biggest reason for this is the Rams trade with the Chiefs, where they acquired cornerback Trent McDuffie. This is a 25-year-old cornerback who has established himself as one of the best at his position. Bringing in McDuffie addresses a major need in the Rams’ secondary. We saw Jaxon Smith-Njigba cause major problems for this group, so McDuffie can help slow him down.

At +750 odds, it’s not a good time to place a bet on the Rams, as that’s too expensive of a price this far out from Week 1. If you want to take the Rams, wait for an in-season bet. Perhaps they can get off to a slow start, allowing you to grab them at a better price.

Bills (+1000)

Like the Rams, the Bills were already considered Super Bowl contenders, but seeing them go from +1200 to +1000 is notable. The market seems to be viewing the Bills’ promotion of Joe Brady from offensive coordinator to head coach as a positive, since that provides continuity on offense.

But the main reason for this move is the Bills trade with the Bears, where they brought in veteran wideout DJ Moore. Buffalo has been searching for a legit WR1 since Stefon Diggs left for the Houston Texans. They’re hoping that Moore can fill in that void.

However, I’m not a fan of this move. Moore fell down the pecking order in Bears’ targets last season, behind Rome Odunze and eventually Luther Burden. We also saw an underwhelming stat line from Moore, including only 682 yards in 17 games. The Bills are betting that Moore will bounce back after reuniting with Brady, who coached him in Carolina. I’ll fade that bet.

Fallers: Jaguars & Bengals Crashing Down

The Jaguars and Bengals have had an uneventful free agency, which is why they’ve crashed down the ranks.

Jaguars (+2500)

The Jaguars had a spectacular season in Liam Coen’s first year as head coach, smashing expectations en route to an AFC South divisional title. Although they were defeated by the Bills in the AFC Wild Card round, this is a well-rounded team with Super Bowl aspirations heading into the 2026 season.

But with a lack of free agent additions along with rumors of a Brian Thomas Jr. trade, it’s not surprising to see the Jaguars fall from +1800 to +2500. However, with good coaching and an emerging star in Trevor Lawrence, the Jags are on the right track.

If you think the Jags can contend for a Super Bowl, it’s the perfect time to bet on them. They’re not in the news because they haven’t made any additions, so you’re getting a much more appealing price at +2500 odds. This looks like one of the best Super Bowl bets on the board right now.

Bengals (+3300)

The Bengals are similar to Jaguars: their inactivity has caused them to fall down this list. Losing top edge rusher Trey Hendrickson to the rival Ravens certainly doesn’t help their outlook in Super Bowl odds.

However, with a top-10 draft pick, the Bengals can add a blue-chip prospect to their defense. This has been their biggest weakness for the past couple of years, so if they can nail this pick, it can be huge for their Super Bowl chances.

Just like the Jags, this is the perfect time to take the Bengals. You’re getting a nice price at +3300 odds for a team that has one of the best offenses in the NFL with all hands on deck. That’s enough to take the chance on the Bengals to win the Super Bowl.

What’s Happening with the Ravens?

The Ravens have been all over the NFL headlines to start free agency, mostly because of their initial trade for Maxx Crosby.

Baltimore Ravens (+1400)

After trading for Crosby, the Ravens moved from +1200 to +1000, which makes sense because he’s one of the best edge-rushers in the NFL. The move addressed a major need on this defense, since they weren’t able to generate pass rush last season.

But with the Ravens shockingly backing out of the trade, their Super Bowl odds have moved back from +1000 to +1400. However, this gives you a buying opportunity. Yes, they lost Crosby, but they signed another good edge rusher in Trey Hendrickson. Plus, now they’ll have their first-round pick back, since it was initially included in the Crosby trade.

With a promising head coach in Jesse Minter, along with a healthy Lamar Jackson, the Ravens look poised to return to prominence after a down year in 2025. However, we do have to note some of their major losses in free agency, which include stud center Tyler Linderbaum, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Vikings Could Bounce Back

The Vikings addressed a major need in free agency, putting them in a strong position to get back on track following an extremely disappointing 2025 season.

Minnesota Vikings (+4400)

Earlier last week, the Vikings were +5500 to win the Super Bowl. Their odds had gotten longer from their +5000 opener. But after signing Kyler Murray, the Vikings have shot up to +4400 odds.

You have to love this fit with Murray getting coached up by Kevin O’Connell, who has established himself as a quarterback whisperer in this league. I know they said it’s a quarterback competition, but with how much J.J. McCarthy struggled last year, Kyler looks like a major upgrade.

This team was one of the best in the NFC back in 2024, so we can’t rule out a bounce back, making +4400 look like a nice price.

Best Super Bowl Bet: Don’t Sleep on the Commanders

The Commanders have been active in free agency, but their odds haven’t moved, giving us a chance to secure this value before the market adjusts.

Washington Commanders (+5000)

The NFL is a league that is often plagued by recency bias. The Commanders are one year removed from getting to the NFC Championship, but they’ve become an afterthought after a disappointing season where they were one of the worst teams in the NFL. But that down year can be explained by injuries, most notably to star quarterback Jayden Daniels.

The defense was abysmal last year, but the team has made some shrewd moves to address those holes. General manager Adam Peters has brought in a pair of edge rushers in Odafe Owe and K’Lavon Chaisson, while shoring up linebacker with Leo Chenal and cornerback with Amik Robertson. They’re also likely to address wide receiver, potentially bringing in Brandon Aiyuk.

Add in the fact that this team has the 7th overall pick in this year’s draft, and there’s room for these odds to shoot up. What if Daniels looks better with new offensive coordinator David Blough? Preseason buzz could move these odds as we get closer to the season. To that end, the time to bet on the Commanders to win the Super Bowl is now.
