The Brooklyn Nets will head out on the road to take on the Golden State Warriors. With Kyrie Irving allowed to play for the Nets tonight, will that help the total go over? Let’s go ahead and take a look at the NBA odds.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Golden State Warriors

Saturday, January 29, 2022 – 8:30 PM EST at Chase Center

The Brooklyn Nets are back out on the road to face the Golden State Warriors. The Nets might be the only team in the NBA that enjoys being on the road. It’s not because of their record, it’s because Kyrie Irving is allowed to play in road games.

However, Golden State has won four straight home games and has started to really come together since the absence of Draymond Green. The Warriors are 23-4 on their home court and give up just 101.9 points per game while holding opponents to a 42.5 percent shooting percentage.

However, the Nets are 17-6 on the road and James Harden is just earning a ton of assists for the Nets right now, averaging 10.1 per game. The Warriors defeated the Nets earlier this season, 117-99 on November 17.

Stephen Curry had 37 points in that game while Harden scored 24 points. Golden State now has two all-stars that will be starting in the NBA All-Star Game. Stephen Curry was an obvious choice but Andrew Wiggins also got the nod and will start in his first-ever All-Star game.

Wiggins was written off as a bust but has really been a joy to watch in Golden State. The Warriors are currently holding opponents to 103.8 points per 100 possessions and have limited teams to a 50 percent effective field goal percentage.

Golden State has also earned 15.5 percent turnovers on the defensive end and continues to make it hard for teams to earn second chance opportunities. The Nets might be able to get to the line at a high rate, and if they’re able to do that, the Nets could stick around at the line.

However, Brooklyn has allowed 111.3 points per 100 possessions while only earning 12.8 percent turnovers. The Warriors are always turning the ball over, so if the Nets struggle to force turnovers, it’ll be a tough game for the Nets to win.

The Warriors are shooting an effective field goal percentage of 55 percent, but the Nets have done well limiting effective field goal percentage on the defensive end, holding teams to a 51.1 percent percentage.

Prediction

The Nets have lost two straight games at home without Kyrie Irving. Now with Irving back on the court for the Nets, I like more points to be scored.

The Nets scored 125 and allowed 136 to the Minnesota Timberwolves, in their last road game and we know that the Warriors are very capable of putting up lopsided numbers on the offensive end. The over is currently extremely high at 231, but I still like these teams to get there.

The Warriors have been a terrific defense but that’s taking the sample size with Draymond Green as well. For our NBA picks, I’d grab the over 231 between these two teams. I’m expecting 120 from both teams.
