The college football schedule has been a major disaster. It’s something the NCAA needs to look at, but they’re too busy worrying about things that don’t matter nearly as much.
I’m talking about the fact that there was a major coaching carousel this weekend, right as the regular season ended. The main move was Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for LSU, despite his team going to the College Football Playoff.
Kiffin wanted to close out the season with Ole Miss. But he was strapped because signing day is coming up, and he must recruit at LSU, which is where he’ll be next season.
In all professional sports, coaches get to finish what they’ve started. Except in college football. And it’s a disgrace.
That said, it’s championship week in college football for Week 15. Ole Miss isn’t in the SEC Championship game, but Alabama and Georgia are. We’ll talk about that game and a couple of other major conference championships below.

NCAAF Odds Week 15 At-a-glance
There are four mid-major conference championship matchups on Friday and another five championship games held on Saturday. I’ll talk about the three most intriguing games featuring the Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC title games.
BYU Cougars vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders (-13.5)
Saturday, December 6 – 12:00 PM ET
The Texas Tech Red Raiders destroyed the BYU Cougars in an earlier conference matchup on November 8. Texas Tech won that game 29-7 to give BYU its first and only loss of the season.
That’s why the odds have shifted in favor of Texas Tech. The spread opened at -11.5 and is now at -13.5. In addition, the total dropped from 51.5 to 50.5 after BYU really struggled offensively in its previous game against the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech is easily one of the most balanced teams in the country. They’ve scored 43.17 points per game and have allowed just 11.25 points per game. They’ll surprise some folks. Grab Texas Tech before it reaches -14.
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (+2.5)
Saturday, December 6 – 4:00 PM ET
Like BYU, Alabama is playing for a chance in the College Football Playoff. The Crimson Tide already has two losses, including a really bad Week 1 loss to Florida State. A third loss in the SEC Championship game would likely rule out a chance at the CFP for Alabama.
That said, Alabama already defeated Georgia, 24-21, back on September 27. That was a long time ago, but Alabama has only improved since that game. The Crimson Tide match up very well against Georgia. It showed then, and it’ll likely show now.
However, bettors don’t see it the way I see it. Georgia opened as a -1.5 point favorite and is now at -2.5. Grab that hanging fruit and even consider Alabama at +115 on the moneyline.
Indiana Hoosiers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes (-5.5)
Saturday, December 6 – 8:00 PM ET
The Indiana Hoosiers have been the most surprising team in the country. Everyone expected Indiana to be a College Football Playoff team. But to be 11-0 with blowout wins almost every week is quite astonishing. So far, the lines haven’t moved much. The Buckeyes are still -5.5 against the spread. However, the total, while still at 48.5, is moving toward the under being the favorite.
While Ohio State has been an electric defense all season, Indiana has scored nearly 45 points per game. In fact, both defenses have been tremendous against the run and continue to play great in coverage. Indiana has allowed more passing yards, but has given up below 80 yards per game on the ground.
Since both teams match up well, consider the Hoosiers at +5.5.
Bet Championship Week!
The regular season has concluded in college football. If your team didn’t earn six or more wins, their season is over.
But for 18 teams, there’s more to play for this weekend before worrying about bowl games and the playoffs. There are nine conference championship games on the horizon.
Other than Texas Tech, I’m liking the underdogs in the major conference championships. The good odds don’t last forever, so make sure to grab valuable lines immediately.
