Memphis Grizzlies vs. Boston Celtics

Thursday, March 03, 2022 – 07:30 PM EST at TD Garden

Steven Adams

The Memphis Grizzlies are a 3-point favorite at the NBA odds in Boston to kick things off on TNT this Thursday evening. Ja Morant has been incredible in the last few games, but there’s another Memphis player worth placing a bet on in this one.

Prop Analysis

Veteran center Steven Adams only averages 1.4 assists per game in his career, but that has changed this season as he’s averaged a career-high 3.3 assists per game. With Morant setting his season-high in points three times in the last four games, Adams has been consistent with four or five assists in seven straight games. Sure enough, his assists line is set at 3.5 in this one, but that might not be the right call with Boston’s No. 2 defense.

Adams is not much of a scorer as he’s failed to crack three points 11 times this year, but he has been a key rebounder this season. Adams is averaging 12.5 rebounds per game over his last 12 games, including a 21-rebound night against Chicago last week.

He should be able to get to 11-12 rebounds and 4-5 assists again in this one, so I like him to get at least 16 in those stat categories for the fourth game in a row.

Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks

Thursday, March 03, 2022 - 08:30 PM EST at American Airlines Center

Dorian Finney-Smith

The Dallas Mavericks are a 2.5-point home underdog against the Warriors, but they did come back to win in Golden State on Sunday.

Blowouts are killers for player prop bets, but the last seven Dallas games have been decided by fewer than nine points, so hopefully, this will be another competitive game where one of the non-superstars can easily cash a prop.

Prop Analysis

I liked Dorian Finney-Smith to have at least 17 points/rebounds/assists against the Lakers on Tuesday and he delivered on just points (16) and rebounds (9) alone. It was the second game in a row where he had 9 rebounds and 2 assists as he did so against Golden State on Sunday. Of Finney-Smith’s six games with at least 9 rebounds this season, two of them are against Golden State.

Finney-Smith is shooting 57.6% from the field and 48.6% from three over the last eight games, one of his best stretches of the season. I like him to keep this run going and get to at least 18 in the three main stat categories in this one.

NBA Prop Pick: Dorian Finney-Smith Over 17.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists (-120) at Bovada

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Thursday, March 03, 2022 - 10:00 PM EST at Crypto.com Arena

LeBron James

The Lakers are now 27-34 and routinely providing us with a viral video of a hilariously bad play. They could fall to 0-4 this season against the Clippers, who beat them last week 105-102.

Prop Analysis

LeBron James’ frustration must be boiling over as the team is 1-6 in the last seven games. This comes with the 37-year-old averaging 27.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and shooting 50.7% from the field, but the Lakers are still a minus-53 with him on the court during this run.

The Clippers were also the team to snap LeBron’s career-best streak of 23 straight games with at least 25 points. He was held to 21 points in last week’s loss. He only scored 23 points in his other game against the Clippers this year. James has seven games where he shot under 40% this season and two of them were against the Clippers. In his lone game against the Clippers a season ago, James scored 22 points on 41.2% shooting.

LeBron has not scored more than 28 points in 10 straight meetings with the Clippers, including all nine games as a member of the Lakers. James’ career average of 24.0 points per game against the Clippers is his second-lowest against any opponent (Detroit, 23.9).

With a knee injury keeping him questionable for the game, I do not see James having a 30-point game in this one, so I would bet on his under for your NBA picks tonight.
