Nate Maness vs. Umar Nurmagomedov

UFC Light Bantamweight Main Card Bout

Saturday, June 25, 2022- 10:15 PM EDT at UFC Apex

Umar Nurmagomedov Analysis

He isn't as accomplished as his cousin Khabib. Still, Umar Nurmagomedov (14-0-0) is two fights into his UFC career, and already the bantamweight prospect is giving critics a reason to compare his rising status to The Eagle.

Umar has dominated since arriving in the UFC octagon, and ultimately, he's boasted a domineering professional MMA career since the day he turned pro. One key difference between Umar and his cousins is the kicking ability he's presented thus far; his striking offense is lightning quick, and his grappling technique is second to none.

Nate Maness Analysis

In step Nate Maness (14-1-0), another exciting bantamweight prospect who could undoubtedly pose a different threat to what Umar is used to. This threat would be the size. Maness is a large bantamweight and has presented a durable career thus far with just 1 defeat and 14 wins.

Nurmagomedov vs. Maness Fight Breakdown

Watching Umar fight is a pleasure, and it's complicated to go against the grain in this one. Maness could pose a counterstriking threat as I believe he owns better hands, but when we compare complete skillsets, this fight is Umar's to lose.

UFC Vegas 57 Odds Analysis and Prediction

The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review favor Umar as the most significant betting favorite on the entire UFC in Vegas 57 fight card. This price tag is most likely justifiable, but it's not the wagering position I would recommend to anybody.

With that said, Maness has shown a tendency to give up his back quite easily, and Umar has proven to be an expert at sinking in rear naked chokes during his career. With the submission prop sitting at even money, it's the only viable play on the Russian and one I believe he can cash for us.

Thiago Moises vs. Christos Giagos

UFC Lightweight Main Card Bout

Saturday, June 25, 2022- 10:15 PM EDT at UFC Apex

Thiago Moises Analysis

Riding the first two-fight losing streak of his career, Thiago Moises (15-6-0) hasn't owned the most reputable past twelve months but considering one of his losses came against Islam Makhachev, we can't be too critical of his talents.

Moises is an elite-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner with a set of hands to match, under the guidance of the American Top Team, I don't expect him to continue his current downtrend, and although I can't envision a future title opportunity, he's unquestionably a gatekeeper of the lightweight division.

Christos Giagos Analysis

Christos Giagos (19-9-0) became a victim of this week's main event Arman Tsarukyan in his previous showing, which wasn't pretty. However, the 32-year-old isn't giving up that easily and will walk straight into another dangerous competitor.

Moises vs. Giagos Fight Breakdown

I expect Moises to handle himself on the feet whilst simultaneously presenting a ground threat to Giagos. The cardiovascular of Giagos has been suspect, and if he barrels through the first round like we've seen him do in the past, a late finish for Moises will be up for grabs.

UFC Vegas 57 Odds Analysis and Prediction

The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review favor Moises into the -200 range, and this isn't a price tag I want to be involved with. With that said, Moises inside the distance becomes tempting as I believe his BJJ background can cause Giagos a multitude of problems should this fight enter the later rounds.
