The NFL continues to give us some poor matchups for Thanksgiving every year. There’s nothing to get excited about in a game between the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions. We don’t even know if we’ll get to see Justin Fields for the Bears or Jared Goff for the Lions.
Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions
Thursday, November 25, 2021 – 12:30 PM EST at Ford Field
It literally could be a game between Andy Dalton and Tim Boyle. At this time, it seems unlikely that Goff will play on Thursday, meaning we’ll be watching another brutal game from the Lions, who are 0-9-1 on the season. Say what you want about Goff, but if anything, he’s given the Lions a couple of chances to win games this year. Boyle won’t do that.
On the other hand, Justin Fields exited last week’s game with a rib injury. The now 3-7 Chicago Bears are desperate for a win after losing five straight games. For Chicago, their last two games have been much closer, and going up against the Lions should be the game that gets the Bears back on track.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Dallas Cowboys
Thursday, November 25, 2021 – 4:30 PM EST at AT&T Stadium
With all the drama surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders, it’s been hard for the Raiders to find success. They’ve dropped their last three games and have lost their last two but major deficits. Meanwhile, the Cowboys could be without two top wide receivers and just laid an egg against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, losing 19-9.
The #DallasCowboys were supposed to send a message to the NFL on Sunday. @Nickeatman wonders what kind of message was really sent. #DALvsKC

The offense has been hot and cold but it was cold against a Chiefs defense that seems to be turning the corner defensively. At home, I’d like to believe the Cowboys get back on track against a Raiders team that has allowed teams to score at least 22 points in every game this season. Two poor weeks in a row is usually not in the cards for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.

Buffalo Bills vs. New Orleans Saints
Thursday, November 25, 2021 – 8:20 PM EST at Caesars Superdome
The Buffalo Bills looked lost against the Colts last week, losing 41-15 in one of the more lopsided losses we’ve seen this season. In the pouring rain, the Bills just made a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes and drops. The Bills should be able to regroup, especially with their rushing defense after allowing Jonathan Taylor to score five touchdowns in a single game.

On the other hand, the Saints just dropped their third in a row to the Eagles and allowed the Eagles to not just win, but also score 40 points in the win. That’s just unacceptable. The offense is without Alvin Kamara, and of course Michael Thomas and Jameis Winston, but allowing anywhere close to 30 points for this Saints defense is just really bad.
For your NFL picks, look for the Bills to get back on track defensively. If Alvin Kamara is back, I’d be a bit more cautious with betting the Bills but still expect Buffalo to rebound and win this game on the offensive side of the ball.
