2 new teams in Portland and Toronto this 2026 too.

So many more teams coming. When the new teams draft players they take them from the other teams.
So each team gets to lock or protect 5 players, everyone else can be drafted away by one of the expansion teams. We had a draft this year for two new teams for this season.
I like this expansion.
I personally can't wait for the WNBA this year, I plan to trade it like college basketball. Need to be patient, but it is definitely a tradeable season.
I can't wait to tackle the challenge.
That and the players/teams.
I know many will say WNBA is shit, doesn't belong, loses money, women suck, blah blah blah.
I say to all those guys, just look at the state of the NBA right now. They both suck, but at least the WNBA is tradeable or betable.
NBA playoffs should present some opportunity though.

ok. There is a new collective agreement in place. Players will make a lot more $$$$$. The teams get the expansion fees.

I actually am not afraid to admit I like the WNBA. I get the league pass because it's cheap and I love basketball no matter who's playing so I watch the games and you know what these ladies can play. It's a different game then the men who get by on their athleticism while the ladies have to rely on teamwork and fundamentals. In a way I think it's a better product than the NBA which is hard to watch until you get to the playoffs where they actually play defense.

I agree JR WNBA regular season better than the NBA. playoffs is a different deal like you said,
Yeah its tough to watch until you get the playoffs because imo there's too many teams in the NBA and most of the teams stop trying around January which is bad for the game because the season lasts until April. As for the WNBA I think expansion is a good thing because it creates more jobs for these girls who were getting cut because there wasn't roster space for them. More teams equals more opportunities for them and I think that's a positive step in the right direction for the W.
