maybe when the usa beat russia in hockey
I mean ... you can get rid of "maybe"

It is. Everyone else is just arguing over who is second. There is a great 30 for 30 called "Of Miracles and Men" where you get to hear from the Soviet side and it's nice because you get to see their side of the situation. Some are content but some are still super super bitter.

No matter what upset you think about, you can sorta rationalize it. That? No, it's completely preposterous that they beat the Soviets.

Soviets beat USA 10-3 in an exhibition before the Olympics.
Soviets were beating NHL teams.
And beat the NHL all stars 2 out of three in an exhibition series. That NHL team had 20 future Hall of Famer’s.
Hard to top this accomplishment by team USA.
It was truly a Miracle!
Yeah, it would be like if you took a NCAA all-star team, gave them three weeks of practice, and then had them try and beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

From an odds standpoint were there any reports on what they were to win ?
