Vig is what a bookmaker charges a sports bettor for placing his/her wager. It's also called the “juice".
It assures a sportsbook or bookie of making money on a bet.
Example:
Tampa Bay -6.5 -110
Carolina +6.5 -110
The -110 means a bettor has to wager $1.10 for every $1.00 they want to win. If you bet $110 and you win your wager, you’ll receive a profit of $100.
If you lose, obviously you lost $110.
The extra $10 is considered profit for the book.
Vig or juice will vary in numbers, especially with Moneyline bets
