much easier to control diet first.
can't out mailbox walk a bad diet.
plus with exercise it tends to stimulate appetite so if he can't figure out a good way to restrict time, category or coun kcals he'll never succeed
I disagree.
His diet isn't that bad and can even be timed.
He needs to burn calories, not obsess about food, that's a problem for him.
Walking to the mailbox isn't the solution, obviously there needs to be a higher burn.
He could eat McDonald's every day and still do fine excercising.
If anything, portion control will matter more than what it is he's eating.
Get him moving, get portions down, then worry about what he eats.
