High scoring and low intensity, and a lot of people think it’s because of LeBron James that he destroyed the league

he never had the fire and heart of Kobe, Bryant , Magic and Michael Jordan and Larry Bird that carried this league for years

I can’t believe the heat they are taking, I didn’t watch the All-Star game I heard it was an utter embarrassment of professional basketball players, showing any lack of heart, or competitiveness, and again it comes back to LeBron James

you have a major problem when Iowa girls basketball is getting three times a rating of any NBA game

I used to love All Star Weekend as a kid, watched every event and the game pretty much. Now I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole. It was fun to watch little to no defense once a year back then but now it’s just another game when every game is like that lol

Analytics changed the game. Modern offensive theory says that you should shoot only 3's and dunks. Nobody plays defense because everybody is taking 25+ footers or throwing down a monster dunk. I still watch the NBA because I love hoops no matter who's playing but there's no denying that the game has changed since the 80's and 90's.

Can you imagine the look of shock & confusion and the crying from players today if they had to go up against those great defensive teams from 20-30 yrs ago

it would be absolutely hilarious to see
I actually think that today's players would score at will on those teams because they basically made it impossible to defend in today's game. Hand checking is not allowed and most of the rules are geared towards generating offense. I guess what I'm saying is you wouldn't see a game played in the 90's if those guys played today. Hell Jordan would probably average 45-50 points a game in today's game.

They’re gonna have to do something fast or it’s gonna be a dying product

I can see what people are saying, LeBron James impact has definitely hurt the NBA, his whole attitude

He’s a drama queen, plus he runs the national basketball Association, when he leaves, we could see change

Correct

I mean if todays players had to go back to those days or this rules

This Pistons, Bulls, Spurs, Knicks and other teams would love them down & knock them down

And agreed Jordan would average 45-50 today without a doubt. Even Shaq would. Look what Embiid does in this defenseless league. Imagine the domination by Shaq

Different game.

Just like baseball - years ago guys didn’t care if they scored 40 or 50 - they wanted to make damn sure though you didn’t outscore them.

MLB 100 strikeouts was an all or nothing hitter - and you had 1-2 guys who could get away with that and play regularly - now it’s common.

Imagine how many Carlton/Ryan would strike out season these days - guys not caring.

Lebron is just not the same type of player mentally as MJ/Magic/Bird were - he’s more Dr J/Big O to me. He wants to win - but he will take the scoring crown when it comes down to it and a handful of assist so he can claim he was trying to boost the team. Improving the team sometimes means stopping the opposition. It’s why guys like Rodman were under rated overall - he freed up other guys to take the offense. Players like Robinson/Duncan were far underrated- they played both ends of the court always - not just when they felt like it.
