Cannot believe I was stupid enough to get sucked into this game and thinking Tennessee had a chance ever.
Did everything possibly wrong in chasing Georgia with my live trades and by the 4th quarter I had a much larger position than I should have had and at a cost that would have killed me to have sold. So I just said F’it - let it go and take the loss on paper to offset some profits elsewhere and fight back tomorrow. Turned it off right after Georgia tied 38-38 and checked the pricing - Georgia was something like 35 cents on the dollar on Robinhood even though books dealing a -110 on either side live betting. (Had already maxed my live betting outs un-regulated).
Scorewatched on the app to see TN had the ball in Georgia territory with an easily marketable FG - thought that was it. Woke up this morning to see Georgia won in OT and I made a tidy sum.
So adjusting my plan - I’m still going to stick half of yesterday’s profit and stick it in the market - but not betting the other half today. Instead I’m taking it and getting the Mrs something, donating a piece to the local animal shelter and if anything left maybe something for myself. When you do something stupid and it works out - the absolutely stupidest thing you can do is chase again. Stop and enjoy your absolute pure luck. Condolences to any Tennessee money line players.
Like I said before the game - this was a no win trap for Georgia if they don’t blow them out. They either lose and got beat and were clearly not top 10 or struggled to beat a barely top 25 team that has holes everywhere and a below average QB - making everyone question their defense. Georgia did nothing to really impress me and is a “do not touch” team for betting purposes for me.
