I was talking about this with a degenerate buddy a couple of days ago.

I imagine prices will get cheaper over time anyway, but I wonder if it'd be a good idea to create a sportsbook that operated with a monthly subscription model as opposed to pricing things at or around -110 for standards lines, totals.

Have everything be fairly priced, eliminate juice, and create revenue through subscriptions

I feel like you could attract more serious bettors through this, which may create more liability in terms of actual games, but in that case probably could afford to have a fairly high subscription price

Could it work? I personally would opt for that

I would be a subscriber. Would be tough to pull off though. Most books currently pay their customers to come play in the form of bonuses. As opposed to charging them a subscription.

Go broke to maintain +100 on both sides especially when lines move. Sharps can set up a middle opportunity on most lines if +ev

Maybe good for football any spread -21.5 or higher as they rarely move more than 3.

Subscription cost would be wildly expensive to keep afloat.

This is what I was thinking. Syndicates might arb the hell out of any positions they take. Might be tough for this type of book to survive with only subscription.

Lot of workarounds for that I think, though a fair point
One way to avoid the issue is to base subscription on amount played. Maybe use window of amount bet to set subscription prices. That might offset people trying to game the system too hard.

In general this is an interesting idea for a book. Now you're going to make me think more about how this might play out.

What?

It wouldn't be +100 for every single wager. It would should be juice-free

So ML could be -150 vs +150, for example
ST... You've got me curious.

Is this something someone with a serious balance is considering or possibly an article referring to the
topic? I ask, because depending upon how this is setup, it could be long-term game changing for the industry.
