My selection is on the 'over' between Chicago and Milwaukee at 7:30 pm et on Wednesday.

Any pressure that the Bulls were feeling to make a series of this is likely off after consecutive blowout losses at home in Games 2 and 3. Chicago knows that it's going to be nearly impossible to win this series with two of the last three games in Milwaukee, not to mention the fact that it will be without Zach LaVine as he has entered Covid protocols.

With that being said, I do think we'll see Chicago push the pace and ultimately help this one get 'over' the relatively low posted total on Wednesday. It's not as if the Bucks have really been limiting the Bulls scoring opportunities. Chicago has averaged just shy of 90 field goal attempts per game through the first four games of this series. The Bulls simply haven't been able to knock down their shots, shooting better than 40% just once (Game 2).

On the flip side, after a sluggish start we've seen the Bucks round into form offensively, knocking down 43 and 45 field goals over the last two games. Their offensive production has risen with each passing game in this series, most recently scoring 119 points in Game 4. As they look to wrap this series up on their home floor on Wednesday, I look for them to force the issue even more, noting that the Bulls have allowed 43+ made field goals in eight of their last 10 games overall.

Here, we'll note that the 'over' is 13-5 with the Bulls coming off a game in which they scored 100 or less points this season, resulting in an average total of 223.6 points. The 'over' is also 40-19 when they play on the road off consecutive home losses. Take the over.

Play on:
Dodgers Moneyline

The 12-5 Los Angeles Dodgers and the 7-11 Arizona Diamondbacks meet this afternoon for the "rubber match" of this three-game series at Chase Field. The Dodgers won 4-0 on Monday but the D'backs evened the series Tuesday thanks to a two-run HR by David Peralta in the eighth inning that was the difference in a 5-3 victory. Julio Urias (1-1, 3.00 ERA) gets the nod for LA and Zac Gallen (0-0, 1.00) for Arizona.

Urias was MLB's lone 20-game winner in 2021 (20-3 with a 2.96 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP in 32 starts). He had a rough first start this year, giving up six runs (three earned) in just two innings on April 10 at Colorado but has been much improved over his last two outings. He allowed just ONE run over 10 innings and earned his first victory of 2022 last Friday at San Diego, when he gave up one run on two hits over five innings in a 6-1 LA win. Gallen was just 4-10 (4.30 ERA) last season and after a late start to his season because of a cut on his right thumb, he's totaled just nine innings in his two starts this season. However, he has allowed just one ER and has posted a 9-2 KW ratio (0.67 WHIP).

Gallen has been around since 2019 and in seven career starts vs the Dodgers (D'Backs are 4-3), he owns a 2.88 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. However, Urias has dominated Arizona, going 7-1 with a 1.55 ERA all-time against the D'backs in nine appearances (six starts). He's a perfect 6-0 in those starts with a 1.60 ERA and 0.83 WHIP, including going 3-0 with a 1.20 ERA (15-3 KW ratio) in 2022. Arizona is hoping to earn its first series win of the season but I say the D'backs won't pull it off against Urias and the Dodgers.

Good luck...Larry

BALTIMORE @ N.Y. YANKEES | 04/27 | 7:05 PM EDT

N.Y. YANKEES -1.5

ANALYSIS: The Yankees homered five times in Tuesday's 12-8 win over Baltimore, their sixth victory in seven games. They've scored 22 runs in their past two games Now they face converted reliever Tyler Wells, who shut them down over four innings 10 days ago. Despite that sterling outing, Wells sports a 6.75 ERA with two homers and four walks allowed over eight innings. I expect New York's revitalized attack to have a lot more success in its second crack at Wells. Look for the Yankees' Jordan Montgomery to turn in another strong start and back New York -1.5 runs at -125.

Play on:
Flyers vs. Jets Over 6.5

Recent games between these teams, at Philadelphia, tend to be lower-scoring. The Jets and Flyers have faced each other, at Philadelphia, four times since 2018. Those games had scores of 3-1, 4-2, 3-1 and 2-1. Games here at Winnipeg, however, have been a different story. Since 2018, the Flyers have played here twice. Those games had scores of 7-3 and 7-1.

Note that the 'over' is 9-5 the past 14 times that the Flyers faced a team with a losing record and 12-5 the past 17 times that they scored one goal or less in their previous game. In this case, with both teams playing out the string, I'm expecting another relatively high-scoring affair. Consider the Over.

Jack’s Pick for Wednesday:
Cleveland Guardians +183

It’s a great time to ‘buy low’ on the Cleveland Guardians as massive underdogs to the Los Angeles Angels tonight after dropping five straight games. Cleveland starter Zach Plesac will give them a much better chance to win this game than this line would indicate.

Plesac has been dominant in three starts this season, going 1-1 with a 1.53 ERA and 1.075 WHIP while allowing just 3 earned runs and 2 walks in 17 2/3 innings. Plesac has never lost to the Angels, going 2-0 with a 2.81 ERA and 0.875 WHIP in two career starts against them.

Shohei Ohtani is 1-2 with a 4.39 ERA in three starts this season for the Angels. He gets a lot of respect when he’s on the mound after winning the MVP last year, and that’s evident tonight as he’s a -200 favorite over the Guardians.

The Angels are 3-14 in their last 17 home games after allowing 3 runs or fewer in two consecutive games. Cleveland is 21-8 in its last 29 games after scoring one run or fewer in its previous game. Bet the Guardians Wednesday.

Game:
Los Angeles Dodgers (953) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (954)
Time: Wednesday 04/27 3:40 PM Eastern
Pick: Arizona moneyline

Arizona got an impressive win on Tuesday night when David Peralta hit a tiebreaking home run in the eighth inning after falling behind 3-0 to snap a two-game losing streak.

Zac Gallen gets his third start today and has allowed one run on four hits in nine innings this year. Gallen gave up seven runs in 17 1/3 innings against the Dodgers in 2021 and April was his best month last year as he had a 2.16 ERA and .138 opponent batting average in the first month of the season.

Julio Urias has pitched twice on the road and given up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits in seven innings. Arizona has won four of seven after starting the season 3-8. Take the Diamondbacks.
