Phil is a very competitive city as far as Italian food
The best in the country and no one but us really know it.

It's so crazy, people in the US think of Italian food, they automatically think of New York.

None of them realize New Yorkers come to Philly on the weekend and eat here now.

It's fukkin comical.

New York overrated now
To a certain extent, it always has been, Coach.

In New York, if you got one Italian restaurant you like, there are a hundred others just like it.

The volume is amazing.

What separates Philly, by comparison, is that Philly can't offer the same level of sheer volume, but Philly makes up for it with it's quality.

So, for example, you got an Italian bakery in New York, you'll find a hundred others exactly like it, all the same.

In Philly, you got 10 Italian bakeries, all outstanding, and all completely different from each other.

I've told people FOR YEARS, there's a bakery here called Termini Bros. They make the best cannoli IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY.

Next thing you know, New Yorkers start showing up there, then people from Boston, then Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts.

Next thing I know, I'm standing in line, gentleman standing in front of me, he turns to me and asks me if I'm from here.

I say yes I am. I notice his accent I say where are you from? He says Germany.

I said what are you doing here? If you want Cannoli you got Sicily a short plane ride away from you.

He smiled and said, I had a business meeting here in Philadelphia two years ago.

Someone brought these cannoli into the meeting and I never forgot them.

I'm here now visiting my daughter and just had to come here and get some.

That is the difference between New York and Philly in terms of quality and volume.

I laugh at how much New Yorkers love Philly food.

We invented something in South Philly called Crab Gravy. I'm sure Bobby knows it.

It's like Sunday Gravy but made with crabs.

New Yorkers never heard of it until they came to Philly. Now they can't get enough lol.

I've seen it so many times it's not funny.

Just last week, some "associates" of mine had dinner at RAO'S in New York.

They came back I said how was it? They said atmosphere was cool. Food disappointing.

Then I said to them, listen yous are here for a week why don't yous go to Villa Di Roma?

They said where's that? I said fukk this let's go.

Took them there. One of them said is this the same place that was mentioned in the movie The Irishman?

I said yes that's the same one.

They went nuts over the food. Completely nuts. They couldn't believe it. They said this place kills RAO'S and they got a months long waiting list to get in that place.

I said to them please don't ever insult me by comparing your food to ours. They apologized and said you're right there ain't no comparison and left it at that.

They know, Coach.
