As Sammy points out, you can't be surprised by this. QBs are hard to come by. Very good QBs are needle in haystack. This guy is great and they had to lock him in for years to assure their success.

They probably pulled the trigger so early so that they could keep the price down. Waiting another year for some other QB to sign an even bigger contract would have caused Burrows' price to climb even higher.

I agree; waiting would have prob cost them even more money. And as u mentioned high end QB play isn't easy to find so it's an investment worth making for these teams.

what i hate about it,the average player or under adverage is getting too much money today and all this goes into raisng pries for the fans, we have indeed create a monster
They earned it

Frankly one could reasonably argue that NFL players are underpaid

i dont buy into the big money when you never won anything on the field, but that the problem with pro sports today....Dak is a prime example
Most players you could say haven't won anything

But what are you gonna do? Not pay?

What would Cowboys do if they didn't pay Dak? It's really a pretty good contract looking at it for the Cowboys.
