ATLANTA @ N.Y. METS | 07/29 | 12:10 PM EDT
N.Y. METS -125
ANALYSIS: Mets starter Taijuan Walker was a revelation in the first half and an All-Star but has imploded in two second-half starts. However, the Mets say they have found the issue with his fastball regarding mechanics, etc. Walker has been very good at home this year (4-1, 2.68 ERA) and vs. the Braves (eight scoreless innings, three hits). Really the only Atlanta batter with much career success off him is Joc Pederson. The Braves runline would be tempting if it wasn't such a big price (-180).

BALTIMORE @ DETROIT | 07/29 | 7:10 PM EDT
DETROIT -153
ANALYSIS: The Tigers have been one of the most profitable teams in the league this season and you can see why after winning two straight in Minnesota at +170 and +120. They head home now where they are much better and face an Orioles team that is much worse on the road. Casey Mize won't go dep into the game but hell give four solid innings and he should be able to get the lead for a Tigers team who scored 17 runs yesterday without a home run. Take the Tigers at home.

WASHINGTON @ PHILADELPHIA | 07/29 | 12:05 PM EDT
PHILADELPHIA -153
ANALYSIS: The Nats have COVID going around their clubhouse and now they have to play a doubleheader thin. They face Zack Wheeler who has been the Phillies best pitcher all season. However, the Phillies are much better at home and Scherzer has been worrying about where to veto his no trade clause too instead of focusing on his next outing. Never thought Id ever pick against Scherzer as this big of an underdog but if you look at the Nats lineup youll see why.

CHI. WHITE SOX @ KANSAS CITY | 07/29 | 2:10 PM EDT
KANSAS CITY +1.5
ANALYSIS: Simply taking a shot on Royals RL here at even money because the White Sox are sitting Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu and Eloy Jimenez due to rest/injury/the fact it's like 100 degrees in Kansas City. Royals pitcher Carlos Hernandez isn't very good but is facing a very weak lineup. Perhaps that it's so hot limits how long Sox Cy Young contender Carlos Rodon (8-4, 2.24) is out there. Also: top setup man Michael Kopech and closer Liam Hendriks are both unavailable.

CINCINNATI @ CHI. CUBS | 07/29 | 2:20 PM EDT
CINCINNATI -121
ANALYSIS: The Cubs are resting both Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo -- maybe it's just because of a day game after a night game, but it also could mean both are about to be traded. Frankly, it would be a shock if Bryant isn't dealt by tomorrow's deadline. With those two out, we'll back the Reds behind resurgent pitcher Luis Castillo. He was awful the first two months but had a 1.71 ERA in June and has the exact same 1.71 ERA this month. Chicago's Alec Mills has a 4.71 ERA in day games. The Cubs are 1-10 in their last 11 vs. a team with a winning record.

N.Y. YANKEES @ TAMPA BAY | 07/29 | 1:10 PM EDT
N.Y. YANKEES -125
ANALYSIS: The Yankees have shown some life, winning seven of their last 10 games to pull within 2.5 games of the last wild card slot. The Rays have lost three straight and look to avoid the sweep. That'll be a daunting task with Gerrit Cole starting, even though the Yankees are only 10-10 with him on the mound. (Also, a Cole bettor is down 10.4 units.) They’ve also lost three of Cole’s last four starts against the Rays. This bet is mostly against Tampa Bay starter Luis Patino, who has allowed 15 runs over his last three starts. Yankees to win.

L.A. DODGERS @ SAN FRANCISCO | 07/29 | 3:45 PM EDT
OVER 8.5
ANALYSIS: It’s going to be a beautiful day in San Francisco, with the wind expected to be blowing out slightly at nine miles per hour. These two starters should help get this game get Over the total. Los Angeles LHP David Price will get four or five innings of work before the bullpen takes over, but the Dodgers have lost his last four starts. The Giants also have lost RHP Johnny Cueto’s last four outings. Despite the fact both lineups are hitting poorly, the Over is the top play.
