Yeah it was, there are too many iconic roles and performances to count. There was another short-lived series (Smith) where he played an expert thief that he was great on. Pretty much any role he had where he was either law enforcement or a criminal he nailed.
Underrated movie Liotta and Hackman in it plus Weaver and Hewitt are funny in it and both hot.
