Just want to have more eyes on this and see if anyone has any ideas or thoughts. Not trying to cause trouble.

Thanks for weighing in Oddsmaker. Would you be willing to elaborate more on why you think that? Additionally, what are their motives for just draining my balance? I've learned a lot in the last 18 or so hours, saw that at least at one point, BOL agents had access to any member's pw. Also saw that often when this happens, the hacker will attempt to dump chips in a live poker game to another account? I'm not sure what the case is here as customer service did not tell me what the nature of the casino losses are. As an update, I reached out to Dave Mason from BOL and he apparently contacted some higher ups in customer service and I'm awaiting their response currently.
Be aware that BOL is relying on a 3rd party casino software provider to assist with this. It may not necessarily be BOL which is being untruthful or doing a shoddy investigative job here. You sound genuine, so the fact that you're getting this pushback is troubling, but I would remain optimistic if you are truly in the right.

I don't buy the inside job theory. There are other possible explanations. But to answer your bolded piece generally, I am aware of 2 theories. One, some hackers are young teenagers in their parent's home who just like causing havoc. I know one person whos BetOnline account was drained in the casino, just like yours, and the hacker sent a smart ass text to the person's cell phone bragging about the conquest and telling them to contact BetOnline customer service. A second theory, which is what BetOnline security team told this individual was common, is that hackers are looking for larger conquests and street cred. A $5,000 hack isn't very exciting, but going on a hot streak in the casino and hitting $50,000 is. However, this second theory assumes that they would be able to eventually withdraw the funds, and I'm not sure how possible that would be due to BOL's 2FA.

Perhaps someone has alternate theories on why hackers seem to do this casino dump all the time. It's obviously not the sportsbook pulling shenanigans, since they always compensate the players at the end of the day.

Feeling slightly better. I cannot emphasize this enough, Dave Mason (@DaveMasonBOL) has been very helpful throughout. We exchanged several messages on twitter in the past hour that give me hope. Up until this point, the front end customer service agents have been shockingly confident that there was so suspicious activity on the account.

When I told this to Dave and asked for the hand by hand details of the Casino losses, he attempted to obtain them immediately. However, because casino play and transactions are handled by 3rd party software and cannot be obtained quickly. Dave let me know that at this moment, they do not yet have access to these records. With that said, it is VERY strange that the front end customer service could be so confident.

Further, I asked Dave to look into to the alleged 3:37 AM login from my iPhone XR login from my AT&T wifi. I reiterated my skepticism on this allegation and he is looking into it again.

He informed me not to expect a resolution tonight and that higher management is on it. I will keep everyone in the loop.

Really? This happens at sportsbooks a lot, and I've always seen them make good on the account once it's confirmed that the casino gambling came from a different IP.

I assume you really do have an iPhone XR, correct? And therefore, your suspicion would be that they are looking at login details from different at a different time, right?

Another possibility to consider...if they are looking at the time of logins from their server, there could potentially be a difference between the time they see and your actual local time, depending on what time zone you are in vs. their data center. I know when I log into BetOnline all of the end times for their lines are 3 hours off because I'm on the West Coast but their website is set to Eastern time.

The victims we are aware of, who find these forums and go public and file complaints here, may get compensated.

What about the ones that don't?

I've personally known 3 people in my betting network who've had this happen to them. All 3 of them were compensated with zero publicity on an Internet forum, zero involvement of a mediation service, such as BMR, and zero publicity on social media - just one-on-one communication with the sportsbook's security team. So it's not just those who go public.

I've never seen any evidence of these sportsbooks trying to take advantage of players who got hacked, especially when the funds were simply lost to their own games and not withdrawn (meaning no net loss to the sportsbook/3rd party casino operator if they compensate).

FWIW, those 3 incidents were at LooseLines, BetOnline/Sportsbetting.ag, and Bovada.

Hello, addressing the earlier messages. There are a couple things that I’m considering based on my interactions with customer service up to this point. So far I have only communicated directly with Front End members of customer service. Here they are in order:

1. Initial chat: agent wrongly told me my money was “transferred to my casino account” and I needed to transfer it back.
2. Call following chat: Agent let me know the first agent was incorrect and in fact the money was lost in the casino. I asked to review fraud
3. Call ~3 hours later: “no suspicious login activity” I ask for more details regarding device and IP address and to be transferred to a supervisor. Wait on hold 10+ minutes for supervisor and ultimately hang up as in the mean time I have found out Dave Mason may be a resource. I want to wait for his response.
4. Next morning Call: same customer service agent tells me there’s a login at 3:37 AM EST from an iPhone XR w ATT wifi. I ask for hand by hand bet history info and can’t provide it and tells me repeatedly BOL is not responsible.

I reach out to Dave after this asking how to proceed, especially interested in hand by hand casino history. After all, there are infinite ways to lose $9,600 and it is very important to examine. Turns out, this information is not even available yet, due to the use of a third party casino provider. I also ask him to look into the login at 3:37 AM EST and he says he will do this too. In addition, he has his boss, other higher ups reviewing this situation.

Through this all, most importantly. I did not log in from any device from the time I went to sleep and the time I discovered the losses. The allegation of 3:37 AM login in addition to the initial information I received when I reached out to customer service is bizarre. Keep in mind, the agent that repeatedly stressed the 3:37 AM login already knew my device, internet provider because I told CS these devices the day before. Call me a skeptic, but it is not unreasonable to hypothesize that the alleged login was not truly recorded and was merely told to me as a way to try to close the matter.

They already have this information from your previous logins. They asked you for this information to verify what they already knew.

I'm with you that they may have done shoddy investigative work here. But they don't need to be using information from your phone call with them. They have prior information. I know this because when my friend had the same issue, these questions are one way that they differentiated betwene his logins and those of the hacker. They needed to verify which ones were valid. That was the essence of my previous post.

I would keep this in mind as well as the possibility that time zone differences may be causing miscommunication between the two parties (I stress "may" because I have no idea where you live).

My BOL account was hacked, twice in a couple month period, a few years back.

BTC withdrawals were made out of my account both times.

They investigated and found that some kind of "hacker tool" was used....their term.

It could have been an employee, or just some hacker, who knows?

They did fix it, both times, a few days after investigating.

Thanks for reaching out Frank. BOL seems to have a pretty good reputation in getting these matters fixed, so I will continue to trust the process. Sounds like a little different issue, but nonetheless I'm happy to hear it was resolved.

Dave Mason let me know today that they are still waiting on the hand by hand casino records and will not have them until tomorrow at the earliest. Did not confirm or deny the alleged log-in, as to this point I still maintain that is not possible. So basically, waiting on:

1. Casino Hand by Hand Records
2. Dave and Higher management review of log-ins
3. Investigation of all "moving parts" as Dave phrased it in a message to me yesterday.

Basically, nothing has changed since last evening. I will keep posted.
