Guys, a way to "Help" but not completely solve this issue is to change the Portal window so that it opens January 8th (after FBS championship). Players will want to showcase their skills with one more game in a bowl. Some may still opt out (NFL bound guys) but transfers likely won't since sitting out the bowl game will look bad for them in the portal.

They probably won't change the portal window though because it is driven by the school year. The current portal timing allows players that choose to move to a new school, to start their classes immediately (Spring term). If they get to their new school for spring term, they get to participate in spring drills and are ready to go for the subsequent football season.

Delaying it until January 8th would likely cause issues with that timing.

I've never seen a team (Fla St) show less interest in a bowl game. Credit to posters in other threads who made the counter-point about Georgia: *Why should GEORGIA care?

I'm convinced that the Florida St nucleus already checked out of this game. Reality is that Georgia might be un-inspired and be up against little resistance. There's a chance Georgia coasts and doesn't cover this #. This might be the least compelling bowl matchup ever.
