So back in 2025, the Philadelphia Flyers trades Scott Laughton to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 1st round draft pick.

Toronto win this year's draft lottery and landed the #1 overall pick.

Since the pick that was traded to Philadelphia is top 10 protected, the pick going to Philadelphia slides to next year, unprotected.

Seems simple, right?

Except the NHL is now reviewing the deal and calling it complicated. In other words, they are trying to find ways to screw the Flyers out of the pick.

Pretty obvious the NHL hates the Flyers.

This nonsense, along with the Carter Hart situation, are exactly the reasons why the Flyers should sue the NHL.

Funniest "culture" story I can tell.

About 3 or 4 years ago I drive into Philly to do the Hall/Bell/Ben history. Of course I miss the turn and have to circle back to Jersey to hit the $8 toll AGAIN.

I complete the tours and am walking back towards DT when a van full of Dallas Cowboys fans pulls up and starts unloading. Mom, Dad, 3 little kids, all in their Dallas jerseys (game that weekend) is unloading suitcases, etc. on the street.

A secretary looking lady, in pencil skirt, heels, pony tail, glasses walks by, carrying donuts & coffees for the office. She looks at the family and yells "go back to your fukking trailer you mutts" and throws the donuts and coffees on the van and parents and then walks across the street like nothing happened.

Kids start crying, Mom cuddles the children, Dad takes off after lady and get hit by a cab...the cab just drives off, screaming "asshole" out the window at the injured Dallas fan, laying in the street now writhing in pain.

Several other cars make soft attempts to avoid him while honking and yelling at him.
"Can't sleep there asshole"
"Nice shirt faggot"
"Hillbilly"

I chuckled.
