What other football awards are announced at NFL Honors?
In addition to naming the winners from its traditional awards categories, NFL Honors also serves up a big dose of suspense as the annual platform for unveiling of one the league’s most prestigious individual awards. The Walter Payton Man of the Year award recognizes one player’s excellence both on the field and as a philanthropic catalyst in their community, and draws on a list of nominees that includes all 32 NFL teams.
The Man of the Year award will be announced during this year’s NFL Honors, while another NFL award will be making its NFL Honors debut. The Protector of the Year Award is an all-new category addition for 2025-2026, and it’s aimed at giving a little bit of love to the game’s big guys.
The winner of the inaugural Protector of the Year Award will be announced during NFL Honors, for the first time ever bringing recognition to the top offensive lineman for the 2025-2026 season. Here’s a peek at the award’s very first class of finalists:
