Mark "The Bird" Fidrych
I had to look that one up and why he died so young. What a terrible death:

According to the Worcester District Attorney's office, a family friend found Fidrych dead beneath his ten-wheel dump truck at his Northborough home around 2:30 p.m. on April 13, 2009. He appeared to have been working on the truck at the time of the accident.[51] Authorities said Fidrych suffocated after his clothes had become entangled with a spinning power takeoff shaft on the truck. The state medical examiner's office ruled the death an accident, according to a release from the Worcester District Attorney's office.[52]

Watched this game at cottage on Cape Cod family vacation having a few ice cold beers and fresh fish caught earlier after fishing all day out on the boat. Believe it or not I was actually a kid at one time.
Great memory for sure. Off topic but one year as a kid went deep sea fishing on a party boat up there. The Ocean is so damn deep where the boat took us. Took forever to bring the fluke up. Arms sore as can be and if you were not fast enough the sharks/crabs got your fluke 1st

He was such a great guy and deserved much better. If he had the medical care that current MLB players have now, he might have had a pretty long career.

Kind of followed his career a bit and yes went down hill after injuries. Thought he ended his career with the Red Sox in a comeback bid but I guess he didn't make the team. Only lasted 5 seasons wow. Also died at 55 as I thought he was a bit younger.
