was looking around and i like this play here. any opinions on this game here?

also shoutout to @flyingillini

NCAAB Pick: Illinois -3.5 (-105) at BetOnline

"Illinois may sit higher in the currently projected NCAA Tournament seedings right now, but Michigan has more control over its Big Ten seeding. If the Wolverines win their final two, they are guaranteed a top 4 seed in the conference, and byes in the first two rounds.

The Fighting Illini are in a three-way tie for seventh entering tonight’s game and can still move up to a top 4 slot, but they need to win out plus get some help. Despite their poor shooting from outside, being inside their own arena should provide the Fighting Illini with enough lift to win and cover, with the final just coming up short."

Trends:
"- Illinois has covered all 5 wins in the current streak, 2 of those as a home favorite.
  • - The teams have split the last 12 meetings, with 8 of those games ending in at least a 10-point margin of victory.

  • - Michigan’s last win in the series came in Champaign in January 2019, a 79-69 final with the Wolverines laying 8."

I played the Under 144 in this game because both teams play slow and are stout defensively. I think Illinois wins this game but I can't get games involving Michigan right as it seems every time I bet on Michigan they lose ATS and when I am on the other side Michigan either covers or wins outright if they're the underdog. I stayed away from the side in this one but I do like that Under as I think that's where the value lies.

Thanks for sharing your opinion on this matchup. I have never in my life been a totals bettor, & the few times I do, I’m like 33% no bullshit brutal lol. I just like to stick to what I’m best at & keep working at it.

I bet both totals and sides equally and probably hit 50/50 judging by my won-loss record which is around .500. When it comes to basketball I like betting totals because sometimes I feel like the spread is sharp by the bookmakers but there is value in betting totals.

You’re probably right about totals being less sharp. I just don’t even look at those numbers to even know bettor.
