Wags, this could be one of the best Mich/OhioSt games ever:

1) OhioSt playing with Double Revenge.

2) Michigan cheating scandal. And the respective responses:
*Ohio St: they HAD to cheat to close the gap.
*Michigan: the CRYING...and Harbaugh using it as a rallying cry.

3) Only element that's a bit of a turn-off: *If there's any justice, both will still make the Final 4. That said, if it's truly an elimination game, then it's for all the marbles.

Are we sure both will make Final Four?

I love watching the rivalry stuff. I was telling Stormy how good the doc on HBO was
I have my opinions on this. Have posted some on this board.

I think the four-team playoff is flawed. There is a scenario where the Power Rating analysts could line up Mich/OhioSt/Alab/Geo as 1-4 (in some order).

Realistically, you can't have only two conferences represented:

*If Alab wins out, it's hard to see a 12-1 Alab missing out.
...If Alab gets to 12-1, does a 12-1 Geo make it?
...Also, very tricky for a 12-1 Texas. Longhorn fans will be fuming if a 12-1 Alab trumps a 12-1 Texas (who has the H2H road win at Alab).

*Oreg/Wash would seem to have a Win-and-In route.

*I'll put another asterisk on Florida St. The Travis injury is huge.
...First off, it inhibits the Nole ability to win two more games to get to 13-0.
...Nole fans will hate this. Let's say the Noles beat Fla/Louisville by one pt each. I'd argue that the Noles would no longer by a top 4 team.

IMHO, the inclusion of the Mich/OhioSt loser would be based on:
*Georgia winning out, and
*Florida St losing.

Good stuff, Genie. In 2021 Michigan was really amped up, after being shut out for so long.

Going back to the Bo-Woody days, the two games which surely gave Bo consternation were:
*1973. Lantry misses the late kick. But Gradishar was climbing on top of his own DLineman's back. Back then, they didn't call that foul. Now, it would be a penalty for sure. Wound up a 10-10 tie...and more politics.
*1974. Down 12-10 via four Buckeye field goals. Lantry was again in a position to secure the MICH win. He hammered the late kick. Back then, the goal posts weren't that high. Lantry easily had the distance but the ball was well above the goal-posts. The official ruled that the kick was fractionally wide. Spectators felt like the angle showed the kick to be good. And Bo remarked that the officials knew the game was in Columbus OH and wanted to exit safely. So, they call it No Good.
