Damn.... That's some cash.

I just don't think its fair that the country of Qatar can own a team (PSG) and buy whatever player they want without limitations. That's why MLB has salary limits, not that they work perfectly but at least they are trying. In Soccer, there are no restrictions or repercussions for a team to buy every elite player.

I wonder if Madrid still has a shot at Mbappe now.
What do you think Franz?

Well said. It doesnt matter who the finger is pointed at , Man City , PSG , Real Madrid.......
What are the limits ? Salary caps ? Rules and Regulations ?

FIFA is known as one of the most corrupt organizations going.

No value in big contracts for a team it never works out

Whats Ohtami looking for ? $500 - $ 600 million ?

Things have gotten out of hand. The big diff between the 2 is that Mbappe will likely be the next " Great One " as Messi rides off into retirement , and these Oil tycoons wont even notice the $1.1 billion.

Of he turns down the $332m from the saudis and joins Real Madrid I’ll be erect.

He is a National Hero already ( only 24 ). PSG know that losing him , after Messi bailed , would have fans burning down the stadium. If he refuses a 10 year deal worth $1.1 billion , you know he hates you. lol

I think he goes to Real Madrid to win several trophies and still make a ton of $$$$

Franz with the spot on analysis.

He'll make hundreds and hundreds of millions at Real Madrid and collect dozens of championships/trophies. Conversely, if he goes to Saudi he'd make more money but disappear off the front pages of the sport without any championships or trophies.

I mean how much money can a person need. I'm betting he goes for less money but bigger fame that will come with Real Madrid.

P.S. PSG is still in the game though. Qatar is a rich country that owns the team.

Apparently PSG is begging Mbappe to negotiate with Al-Halil. They want the $300M being offered to them for his services this year.

It is a perfect scenario for Mbappe and all teams involved.
  1. Mbappe signs with Al-Halil for 1 year. He'll get a massive signing bonus and a massive 1 year contract. After 1 year, he'll be free to go to Real Madrid for another massive signing bonus and long-term contract.
  2. PSG is thrilled because Al-Halil will pay them $300M to allow Mbappe to play for them. Saudi's are likely to pay up that amount for the prestige of having Mbappe for one year.
  3. Real Madrid loves this plan because they end up with Mbappe in 1 year and don't have to pay any transfer fees to PSG or Al-Halil.
To me the only team that is getting screwed is Al-Halil since they are going to pay $300M to PSG to get Mbappe this year, $160M (?) signing bonus to Mbappe, + 1year contract costs for Mbappe. But if they are willing to do it to have him for 1 year, so be it.

Mbappe is being pressured by PSG to take their offer or leave next summer. They are reported to be seeking a large payout from Al-Halil to acquire him. Its my understanding that he can Veto any transfer and play out his current contract. He will get paid no matter where he goes. This guy wants to be known as the greatest player of all time. He wants trophies and the ability to break records. Until PSG work out a deal with Real Madrid , Mbappe will hold firm. Just my 2 cents

Money over career or career over money. I'm interested to know the outcome of this deal.
1 year deal in Al-Halil will be a vacation and he'll bank millions.

Mbappe already mentioned sitting out this year at PSG to get to "free agency". Going to Saudi would be huge $$$ for just 1 year of his life.

He'll negotiate that deal so that he can go to Real next year and win trophies for a decade.
