You’re the only professional bettor here

Coming off a -2 unit day and I sold myself a little short today. There's a dangerous urge to get that 2 units back and with a good Dallas play, and a window for it.

The Lab likes Dallas to cover the spread, which is -2.5 and -3. Kalshi is dealing a -4.5 but at close to .70 cents a 40% gain be there.

But that's a bad number at 4.5, and dipping in in the last 3 minutes, after I've bought and sold already, is over trading. There will be more bets tomorrow, and better ones too.

That's the difference.

Overcoming the strong desire to get back a recent big loss by shooting for quick, what seems like, low hanging fruit is something that doesn't come naturally. It takes work and experience and I did it today.

Otherwise, a stupid move to get back a big loss can lead to bigger losses and and a negative spiral that, for some, can lead to severely adverse gambling behavior.

Think about the difference between the two paths.

While typing that last post the -4.5 at .70 cents dropped below .50 cents but went back up to likely end at 1.00.

Did I leave money on the table?

The answer must be NO, not in passing on that trade.

It's a trade the Trading Desk simply had to reject if it wants to stay on the professional path.

Can you see the psychology in these last two posts? Two different principles, but ones that make a difference.

Bumping this because no matter how good we are, that day will come and then that urge to get it back will quickly follow.

How we handle ourselves after big losses, and even big wins for that matter, is very important.

Conn leads Sea 63-59 at the end of 3.

Sea -2.5 is less than .30 cents and the Lab says that's a good deal as Seattle will comeback and cover.

Trader refuses to over trade and will walk away. Conn is trying to get their first win.
