STAR JAPANESE RIGHT-HANDER Yoshinobu Yamamoto has agreed to terms to join the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to ESPN sources and multiple reports, ending a frenzied free agency with the second-largest guarantee to a pitcher in baseball history.

The deal is worth $325 million for 12 years, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The 25-year-old Yamamoto, who has won three consecutive MVP awards and Sawamura Awards -- Nippon Professional Baseball's equivalent of the Cy Young -- drew significant interest from the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays.

Wow. Just wow. Dodgers setting themselves up well.

I don't think they will fail like many teams do when signing big names. Why? The difference is these two players (Ohtani and Yamamoto) have a different work ethic. Even though they got their paychecks, they will still bust a$$, unlike a few MLB American superstars that will sit back with thier money and not perform up to their billing.

If you are not a lifelong fan of the Dodgers and are cheering for them to
win it all then Go fekk ya self ehh?

shouldn’t be able to treat baseball , and it’s long history of
smart decisions and well timed trades and scouting
like it’s a baseball game where you have all the money in the world
and can assemble whatever dream team you want

Fukk the Dodgers .

If I was a fan right now I’d be dry humping Mark Walter’s legs right now
Can’t lie .

But I’m not , so fukk him .

Fukk the Cardinals too

and the Cubs

Harry Caray’s cool tho

I posted something similar on another forum, but even with deferred payouts their luxury tax payment has got to be huge.

It will be interesting to see how long their owners are willing to shoulder it, especially if the tax gets increased with the new collective bargaining agreement in a few years.
