Asking opinions for a reason

I believe numbers show it's much harder to score in Soccer than Hockey

But then you see too much shady stuff that happens regularly late in soccer games across some countries that you do not see in Hockey

It depends on the league, but I would say hockey is easier. It's rare to see a 0-0 or 1-0 draw, which should be the most common score in soccer. I once saw a statistic that a goal was scored every 60 minutes in soccer. But as I said, it depends on the league. There are soccer leagues that are offensively oriented and have a lot of goals scored.

Hockey, if there isn't enough goals/scoring in soccer they will just exaggerate that stoppage/added time. La Liga and EPL CONSTANTLY getting goals in the 90+ minutes. Happens every other match it seems. Plus Hockey you can't just pretend you got sniped and roll around on the ground for 15 minutes grabbing your ankle when somebody grazes your shoulder.

Soccer totals are much lower than hockey so obviously it's soccer.
If you're talking about scoring conditional on a shot on net, then it's obviously more difficult to score in hockey where save %s are above 90 and soccer below 80.

Bizarre thread.

All depends on the leagues being compared.

Overall - NHL for example is higher scoring per game than say Premier League - the totals support this.

However - keep in mind NHL is what 30 teams - playing 82 games a year. There are simply more games with more watered down talent defending the goal in hockey. Hockey playoff total shows a truer representation of how hard it is to score I think - as there’s a premium on actually playing defense.

Now for average person - assuming you can skate - playing against an average player of comparable talent in goal - I’d say soccer is harder to score a goal at. While there is a much larger goal - the shot/angles able to be defended with a soccer ball are harder. Hockey the puck just is too unpredictable as it leaves the stick. It’s the physics of catching a fastball or a knuckleball. The fastball you KNOW where it’s going - and you just need to block it. The knuckler - you THINK you know where it’s going - but it’s gonna take some weird turns and can easily slip past you.
