True KVB. Need patience and discipline in this game. Learned that the hard way back in the day. Especially had issues with that when mixing gaming with drinking. Fortunately for me I don't indulge anymore so I have improved. But still a work in progress. LOL.

I remember you telling me your experience when I was betting anywhere from 5K up to 30K a game in 2024 and you told me to be careful, it cost me tens of thousands of dollars. Should’ve stayed more patient and discipline like KVB said.

When I had my bankroll over $100K I was trying to turn that into 1 million your typical gambler’s fallacy. Nowadays, I can bet only $100 a game and it feels worth my while. I’ve come a long way, and those days of chasing are controlled with some sort of cut off.

Gambling is probably more addicting because it’s more accessible.

They used to think there was a mind and a body, but now we know the whole thing is the mind.

Regardless, there is a certain subset of the population that should not even try to gamble. Sad thing is that the use of phones, particularly social media, are just as bad for the same reasons, and with gambling being so easy on the phone now, that subset of the population is doomed from the start.

Agree but what is the point? Human beings vices are what runs "capitalism" so you make someone only bet, fight, f***, drink, drug, eat, shop, and try to have a better lawn than their neighbors etc ... on what someone else thinks is appropriate for that person .

Yeah JDS I learned that lesson in my late 20's. I was not hitting the bank quite at your level (30K a lot of Fkn dough. LOL) but I would throw nickels and dimes around at will. But it's all a lie for most. You said it best a "Gambler's Fallacy." We are much better off at the current levels we play at. And I try to let the younger generation know that these shops don't operate cause most players win. Play within your means, have fun, and be able to sleep at night after a tough loss. If you run across young gamblers tell them your story. It may go a long way in helping people stay in control. THX.

The high-stakes gambling was fun while it lasted. I’m glad I experienced it. Ended up taking 60K from that 89K parlay win, then turned into 126K only to lose a little more than half of it, put that money away in a retirement fund.
