My son-in-law loves his bourbon. I'm pretty much a Jim Beam guy so I don't have a lot of experience with the higher end brands.

I'm looking at buying him a couple higher end bottles as one of his x-mas gifts but the reviews I've read are all over the map. I realize there are different versions (wheat, rye, blended, etc...) but he drinks a variety so I'm not as concerned about picking the right "flavor".

Any suggestions from those of you who are bourbon drinkers for a something <$80 for a fifth?

Also I like the Colts -2 tonight. Not a big play since we have to depend upon Ryan but, I think the Steelers are bad enough to lose this without Colts trying too hard.

I don’t drink anything but bourbon, not what you’d call high $ but I drink Makers Mark and Woodford Reserve with the red label, both are wheat based bourbons and go down smooth, I can’t drink the bourbons that are high rye based, unless that’s all there is

@Tanko hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving

I would recommend CK’s Woodford Reserve that he posted. Safe bet and good value

If you want to higher end happy to throw some out there.

I recommend betting the Steelers ML tonight to get some extra cash for it :)
Great... Thanks everyone.

I actually got him a bottle of Woodford Reserve already hoping it was a good bourbon.
Now I need a couple more ideas for the other ones. I've heard Makers Mark and Elijah Craig are pretty good. Maybe I'll go with them.
