“Mother Ocean gave him a gift, and he just gave it away?!”: Florida Man Finds Millions In Cash Floating In The Ocean At Fort Lauderdale Beach And Immediately Calls The Police
A Florida man has gone massively viral after discovering what appears to be millions of dollars in bundled cash floating in the ocean near a Fort Lauderdale beach, and immediately contacting police after pulling the package ashore.
In the video that has since swept social media, the man in red swim shorts is seen struggling against the tide before finally hauling a large seaweed-covered black bundle out of the water onto the beach.
When opened, the package revealed stacks of cash alongside a white substance that many online viewers have suspected to be drugs.
Rather than walking away with the money, he called the police immediately, a decision that has divided the internet sharply.
One social media user wrote: "I would take the money and disappear into the sunset, driving a new Ferrari." Another said: "I would pretend it was a floatie and swim away from people." Others called it "a literal plot for a movie."
Authorities have not revealed the identity of the man or disclosed how much money was in the package, where it came from, or whether it is connected to any active criminal investigation.
One commenter summed up the national mood perfectly: "I swear they better give that man some reward money… Mother Ocean gave him a gift and he just gave it away. That white stuff was a give away.
