Gambling problem or losing problem?

Do you guys think most gamblers have a problem with gambling or losing? If it isn't a losing problem and just a gambling problem, is it still a gambling problem if you are a +EV gambler or is it just a work life balance problem? Of course you have have +EV and still go broke if you have poor money management skills.

Kind of like a skilled poker player that makes money. You see them with a gambling problem or a work life balance problem?

It always a money management problem which is the same thing as a losing problem - take away the losing, either by winning or not betting, problem solved

They have both. They can't win and they are action bettors which is a disaster.

I don't think there are many +EV bettors with real gambling problems. They probably have as big a problem as anybody but if they are +EV they know what their problem is and can resolve it. Guys that are -EV don't have a clue about anything and are hopeless.

I'd say the no control problem is the only problem that needs to be considered.

I think even if you are +EV and net positive over say $10M handle of betting, you can still have a problem. If it starts getting to you mentally or having big +/- swings it sends you on emotional rollercoaster. Like a lot of pro poker players get burned out when you are in the grind.

I mean we all been in the emo rollercoaster before. XYZ QB throws a 40 yard TD with 2 seconds to go in a game where they are down 21 points or something, to kill your 5 team parlay.

so many people just bet games like the nfl because they hammer that crap in your brain with all the media hype 24 to 7, try to find the best game on the board and just dont bet a game because it the nfl ect

A +EV gambler might have a problem with ego and coming to terms with the fact that they are not what they were once were. They might have some problems with obsession. It is not something they cannot deal with but just might not be willing to.
