News Fatigue Grips Asia-Pacific: India, Philippines Among Most Affected

A recent study from the Reuters Digital News Report 2025 reveals a growing wave of news fatigue across the Asia-Pacific region. Topping the list is India, where 50% of respondents reported feeling overwhelmed by the volume of news. The Philippines follows closely at 48%, while Thailand (41%) and Australia (40%) also show high levels of disengagement.

This phenomenon reflects a rising trend of emotional burnout and information overload, especially in the wake of constant news cycles filled with crises, politics, and global uncertainties. Even in developed markets like South Korea (31%) and Singapore (27%), a notable portion of the population is experiencing news fatigue.

Interestingly, Japan records the lowest level of news fatigue in the region at just 11%, indicating possible differences in media consumption habits or cultural responses to information saturation.

With this border dispute, I don't think you can travel in Cambodia soon, po. Dangerous.
You can still fly into Campuchia, the border towns have the borders closed but open at certain times. Business as usual. I will be going back soon once I get back to the motherland .

I just read all the details here:

Why are Thailand and Cambodia fighting at the border?

"Is it safe to travel to Thailand and Cambodia?
The fighting as it stands is very localised, and as yet the British Foreign Office has not issued a specific travel advisory at the time of writing.

However, it had already urged travellers to take "extra care" in the area following the closure of the border crossings in recent weeks - "especially at tourist destinations such as the Preah Vihear temple, the Ta Kwai temple and the Ta Muen Thom temple".

You can check the latest travel advice on the FCDO site.

Meanwhile China has urged its citizens in Cambodia to avoid the Thai border."

When I click on the 3 dots usually I can click on smiley to open these emojis. I can use the the ones ok on my keyboard but they are limited.View attachment 66897
The links not showing up and being black are frustrating. I expect more out of @BobbyFK and his tech team to be honest. As @gauchojake would say " Do better" no excuse, it has been going on for a while now.

I think this is the same as the last time, Keith. Just hit those 3 dots and hit the parentheses and try again.
